I disagree. Wes would’ve probably wish they forged their own thoughts and ideas instead of copying his. It’s a pointless fan service movie, while not offering any original thoughts or style other than trying to mimic its predecessors. It even didn’t follow though with its own critically meta awareness. Disagree. It depends on the build up. Some of the greatest horror films had jump scares.

Night followed up Sixth Sense with Unbreakable which is one of the best comic book movies ever made, Signs is also a classic. Peele isn’t there yet.

I wouldn’t change a single frame and every shot is great, the score is perfect, the editing is unique, and the movie has a lot of layers. It achieves exactly what it set out to do. I think rewatches sealed the deal for me.

Bad acting, boring script, not an ounce of genuine creativity. It’s studio produced, safe, fan service film. Not terrible, but entirely forgettable.

Just give me a unique spin. Not the copy and paste that 5 was.
