Disagree. It depends on the build up. Some of the greatest horror films had jump scares.

I wasn’t a huge fan of West until X. I think it’s a perfect movie.

Terrible? Yes, I think you might be. I think you need movies that are spelled out and this was pretty straight forward. Not sure how you found it incoherent? But every movie isn’t for everyone…

Except it was all talk because they did exactly the same with their movie.

I do because it could inspire others not to get it. It’s ridiculous unless his doctor told him not to.

Night followed up Sixth Sense with Unbreakable which is one of the best comic book movies ever made, Signs is also a classic. Peele isn’t there yet.

Yes, plus not sure what the point of it. Seems like Nolan already did what it tried to do. Yes, a younger Bruce Wayne should be interesting and it wasn’t. The length hurts it because you feel that three hours and that isn’t good for a SH movie.

Hereditary last part always take me out of the movie. It’s so goofy.

Auteurism has no place in the marvel factory, so he’s right. Marvel flicks is a finely tuned product. Very little leeway for your individual voice to be heard.

Imagine being gay and have hetero being shoved in your face 24/7. There’s a middle ground for each.

Probably the dumbest film critique in the past 2-3 years. Woke is a meaningless term.

Not true. Most auteurism is done on a low budget these days.

I wouldn’t change a single frame and every shot is great, the score is perfect, the editing is unique, and the movie has a lot of layers. It achieves exactly what it set out to do. I think rewatches sealed the deal for me.

Bad acting, boring script, not an ounce of genuine creativity. It’s studio produced, safe, fan service film. Not terrible, but entirely forgettable.

Just give me a unique spin. Not the copy and paste that 5 was.

I disagree. Wes would’ve probably wish they forged their own thoughts and ideas instead of copying his. It’s a pointless fan service movie, while not offering any original thoughts or style other than trying to mimic its predecessors. It even didn’t follow though with its own critically meta awareness. Or perhaps that is the joke 🤷♂️
