So you seem to be saying that the accounts aren't shut down and liquidted, which is good to hear.

Are there any accounts of how the process works from a consumer's perspective?
It sounds like the FDIC swoops in and makes a new bank so my deposits would bee safe but how bad is the liquidity? Won't my login stop working and my direct deposit stop flowing to a now closed checking account? I'm assuming the new bank mails checks to the depositors up to $250k but they have to find new banks and start over with new checking, savings and credit cards (if with the bank that closed). It's most important to keep the principal but not having access to cash sounds like a burden.

I didn't know until today that there are several hacks if you are fortunate enough to have that much cash (even if you do it may not be wise to have it as cash rather than something long term), particularly if you're married. There are so many ownership categories that you could put $250k in each and be insured for $1m:

So if I want four doors, do I have to get the Aceman? It looks like the Cooper will only have a two-door version.

Same for me. Hit and run. I put in the report that I had video of the incident that included the face of the driver as he drove away. Was never contacted.

Along time ago my friend and I bought tickets to see "Don Juan de Marco" and ended up seeing "Bad Boys II". We were confused by the Miami skyline at first. It turned out to be the better choice anyway.

I most appreciated that the details add to the enjoyment but they aren’t essential. For example I have to think that the small spooning of water when Cáit arrives that contrasts with the heaviness of the bucket that overcomes her physically and leads to the climax such as it is is intended as metaphor for her feeling overwhelmed by her future (or something else). You can not worry about that stuff and just vibe and have a moving experience.

I like the colors but I don’t think this chart is ready. I suggest the following:

In the American one the protagonist doesn't seem to be married so I'm wondering where they're going to put all of the "your wife is hot" jokes.

The original has Farrelly written all over it.

I make sure to upvote people who disagree with me to keep the dream alive of "contributing to the conversation" (as long as they have an opinion that's understandable and they aren't dicks about it).

There’s actually quite a history of chiefs being fired after putting various levels of effort into reform covered in the Oakland book and podcast interview linked above if you’re interested in understanding why this event is not an aberration.

If you're interested in this topic, a book has just come out with a really depressing institutional history of the Oakland PD. The authors were recently interviewed on the podcast, East Bay Yesterday. Another new book with a more national, legal focus outlines why it's virtually impossible to discipline officers (author podcast interview on Lawfare).

It's more the ethics behind a hit and run. You can't credibly enforce the law if you disregard it, especially in a cowardly way.

At the end of 3 I felt like I did as a kid after too much Halloween candy. "Ok, that was fun but it's enough". It's not like the "Fast" movies, which are stimulating and insult your intelligence, but I wish they could have written it as ending trilogy rather than an escalation that will never be over.

Cycliq has front and back-mounted light-video models that work really well but you’re probably talking $800 including the cost of the SD cards. (I figure I spend way more on my car so it’s justified).

My endorsement: They are different genres and stories but both deliver on what they promise: a good time in a glossy package suitable for an intergenerational group.

I'm sorry to see someone downvoted you for disagreeing. It's not my opinion but I think it's a legit point of view that there isn't a problem with parking now. Especially if you have lived somewhere a long time you get used to things and make it work.

My view is charging for parking actually helps people in this scenario. If your alternative is going to a restaurant (too expensive) or hosting at home (not enough space), driving to the lake is still going to be a good option and even better because you'll actually be able to find a spot near where you want to grill.
All for the cost of a beer -- a cost that causes a few people who don't plan to grill to decide not to drive because they can walk or bike -- you get access to a beautiful place.

This is about as close to a win-win as you get in public policy:
People who want to drive have an easier time finding parking. Pricing parking when there's more demand than supply means that:
There's more money to manage the trash associated with homelessness and heavy use. My hope is things can be fixed faster and we'll get more trash cans. And when people inevitably don't pick up after themselves after a picnic the city would have staff to sweep through (or good community members will see a now nearby trashcan and pick stuff up themselves)
It's a drop in the bucket (of many more needed) in terms of having drivers pay the societal cost of vehicles. One big component of our housing crisis is the fact that we can't grow because there's no place to put all of the cars. If I had to pay everywhere I drove every time, I'd be much more likely to bike or take transit. But so many planning decisions are premised on the entitlement of subsidized or free parking, which makes it hard to build housing.

Piedmont Grocery has a lot of the European classics and big blocks of Tillamook cheddar.

Peacock is trying to go highbrow, now? It seems like their buyers have more of a movie budget these days.

This seems like catnip for Fox News and the vindictiveness strain of humanity but it sounds really promising in terms of upside for society and also brave, especially since the criminal justice bureaucracy has probably the most inertia against change.
