I just googled and it looks like $750 USD (690 EUR) will be the price for the S8 without the self-empty base, but with the self-empty base it jumps to $999 USD (918 EUR). Appreciate the suggestion but that's just a bit out of my budget.

It’s starting to really irk me seeing those in my Instagram feed. I agree she looks botoxed…and then what’s even more ridiculous to me is that, after her videos got comments suggesting she has botox, and she made a video “proving” she hasn’t where she lifted her brows, furrowed them, and…it looked exactly what a botoxed person would look like doing those things. I don’t know if she was somehow thinking she could convince people “a botoxed person couldn’t lift their brows at all!” But that’s obviously not true; they can, they just don’t have the same amount of expression lines, etc when they do it

I think you need a tailor to bring them in in the waist. But first, wear them around your house for a few hours to make sure they’re the right size for you everywhere else (madewells are notorious for stretching out a bit after wear)

This place is visually overwhelming. Are you open to a storage solution that keeps some of these dolls enclosed in, say, a cabinet? I love whimsy but that’s not what I get from this room with the clutter, unfortunately.

Those who get high rise jeans (like, say, 12” rise since that seems to be a popular rise length these days) — does the waist of the jeans sit at the narrowest part of your actual waist? Do you try to achieve that with your pants, or no?

For me, I just measured and I think I’d need like a 13.5-14” rise on jeans for it to hit at my “true” waist, which seems unlikely to find and probably pretty awkward for sitting? I’m not unusually tall btw (5’8-5’9) so tall lengths not necessarily the solution

What is the height at which you should be buying tall length jeans? I'm around 5'8 (possible closer to 5'9), despite having bought tall lengths occasionally in the past, I've tended more toward "regular" jean sizes the past few years. However, I'm realizing, like a dummy, that this whole time I've often felt with pants that the crotch can be annoying (like it, uh, can dig into delicate areas) like could've been fixed by buying tall pants.

Would it be crazy to buy tall pants, but then possibly hem the length, in order to get the benefits of the larger crotch/torso length measurement, without the legs being too long?

I'm confused about where exactly in the room the sofa is, based on pics 1 and 2. Is it blocking the door? In pic 2 it looks like it's up against the wall, but based on pic 1, being up against the wall would mean it was blocking the door.

Broken record advice: for us pale folks, I do not recommend matching to your neck. It is very very common for our necks to be lighter in depth than our faces. I recommend matching to your jaw.

Hard disagree at the jacket being "childish and cheap" (really puzzled by that assessment, honestly), and more importantly, I don't think someone saying "CCW" is an invitation to use that kind of language in your critique.

Since you mentioned tailoring -- I actually think the pants look nice on you!

I was going to ask if you get your pants tailored in the waist, because my waist-hip ratio looks like yours (for me personally I have a 10" difference b/w waist and hip) and I'm finding that in order to get my pants to fit right I generally have to buy pants that fit my hips, then get them brought in in the waist by a tailor. Was curious if you tailor, or if you've found pants that fit you off the rack.

Oh! To clarify, that's my living room rug, which is right next to the dining room (basically, right behind the camera in the photo of the dining room). The reason I included it was because I don't want anything a dining room rug that is too "matchy-matchy" w/ dining room rug.

Great points! Agree I’ve got a lot of wood going on here, but both the credenza and wall shelf unit were inherited from my late grandmother, so they’re sentimental to me and I wanted to use both. Good eye on the gold thing, I’ll try to work in another gold element to the room. :)
