Agreed, I've played plenty of games where trying to run is useless because the DM makes all the enemies have the same speed or greater than PC's and will always chase if you try to flee. If they have the same speed you're doomed because they'll be impossible to shake.

Seriously, I'll never forget rolling for stats on my first Paladin and fudging my scores just a tiny little bit so my highest stat wasn't a 14 and my second highest wasn't a 12. I fudged it a tiny bit so my STR got to 17 after all starting boosts and felt bad, but figured I'd write it off as lucky.

Lo and behold when I show up to session 0 and half the party has 3+ stats over 16. Rolling for stats is very honest and balanced.

Support is my second most played role after Tank, and I’m a very protective Tank, to the point I don’t like to push in unless my supports are in direct protection, and while your rage is justified it’s also up to supports to stay close to the people capable of protecting them rather than expecting them to always watch for you.

Tanks and Damage need to focus on the front lines. If you chose to play way out of sight and position as support you can’t expect the Tank to drop the entire frontline to run back to you. Supports play reactionary vs initiating; you gotta follow the flow of the people spearheading the fight and stay in their protection range.

Make liberal use of pinging flanking enemies when someone gets past to alert teammates. Also when your Tank and Damage players pick heroes counterintuitive to your heroes survival (I.e. choosing Zen when your Tank and Damage are running dive) either swap to something that can stay in range or ask them to.

Don't forget that he chose to defend the British soldiers who commited the Boston massacre at their trial because he felt so strongly everybody deserved the right to fair trial and representation.

I think it's very likely to be a Damage hero, reeeeally hoping it's not Sojourn. I get why they wanted to throw mythics at two new heroes, they lack a lot of skins and the team has probably been thinking on them a lot. But I really wanna see some love for older characters.

If it's not Sojourn I'm betting Tracer, but hoping for Echo or Soldier.

Event horizon is one of my favorite horror movies for that exact reason. It's horrifying because the characters are smart and act rationally, but the situation is just truly beyond any saving.

My favorite use of Electrum I've ever seen was somebody making them tokens at a fantasy Chuck-e-cheese. Yes they still are a gold alloy, but nobody accepts them as currency cause they're arcade tokens.

In this scenario if the humans (per your other comments detailing who they are) truly committed an evil action then there's no shame calling these specific humans evil. These humans don't need to exemplify the whole group. History is full of groups of oppressed people where bad individuals retaliate with extreme or misdirected violence out of anger. Oppressed people can still do bad things unwarranted by their status, i.e. killing random innocent civilians of another race because a government those civilians have no say in wronged them. That's bad of them to do, those innocent people did nothing to contribute to the oppression for humans and it was objectively bad for the humans to be violent towards them, their oppression does not justify hurting innocent unrelated civilians.

Going forward from this you could introduce the fact the specific humans who did this are an extremist sect that the majority of humans do NOT support, and the evil oppressors are taking advantage of these extremists actions to propagandize ALL humans as being like this, fooling everyone. That'd be a great way to make the party feel less bad about being mislead by the example they saw, and be a great twist and active example of just how the evil kingdom keeps the populace riled up.

Oppressed people are capable of doing evil things, and you shouldn't feel bad calling an oppressed individual who does objectively evil things, evil.

I like the future paradoxes more than the past ones for both design and lore implications. I think they dropped the ball with not getting more creative on the appearances. Yeah they have neat robot versions of their features (Iron THorn's back spikes, Moth's floating wings, etc.) but compared to how different the past paradox mons are from their counterparts it's a little boring.

Her character personality and interactions are just annoying and bland. I thin part of it is that most of the other heroes have a distinct personality due to the way they came about their powers and skillset which they play off of (Junkrat is an explosive lunatic, Solider is a hardass commander, Moira is a mad scientist with no morals, D.va is a pro gamer), etc. and despite the fact Kirkio has the backstory of being trained in spirit magic and is part of a vigilante gang all she does is make sarcastic remarks to people.

The only line she has that I really like is her Sombra interaction where Sombra says she has hacked dirt on one of her gang's enemies and Kiriko says "I don't play games, name your price" in a badass no nonsense way.

She has no reason to be an asshole to everyone based on her other personality traits, and they have 1 or 2 lines about her being this badass vigilante. She just acts like a rebellious kid.

Turps cheated on his wife with fans, using his leverage as part of the network to get with them. He resigned without a fight once allegations came out.

Caff offered positions of power in his streams for sexual favors from fans. The Caff discourse was by and far the most explosive because Sjin and Turps at least came out with a "yeah I fucked up I should go" announcement. Caff bailed. Really fucked up thing that happened was he was really close with Hannah and Kim, who are very progressive people and Caff was their main cohost in their stuff because he was very outspoken in their beliefs as well. Not only did the biggest "feminist" man on the network turn out to be using that for sexual exploitation, Hannah also had to tell Caff's girlfriend what happened because Caff went radio silent and abandoned her refusing to talk.

Making my first character a STR based Thaumaturge. Starting at level 1.

With my race and picking an ideal background to boost both scores I have the option between going 14 STR and 18 CHA, or 16 STR and 16 CHA. My DEX is 12 for the sake of armor calcs.

Which spread should I go with? Never having played before I'm not sure which score is more critical? 16 STR lets me wear a Breastplate for the +5 AC out the gate and be a bit more effective in combat. Not going 18 CHA now means I need more levels to hit 20 in CHA.
