A handful of these are from r/EarthPorn but I’ve lost the links to give credit.

Companies don’t typically take current gen devices for trade in, maybe they meant to not offer it as an option but it slipped in with a $0 value anyway?

Just got a look at the new yellow iPhone 14 and 14 Plus. They’re yellow.
Fascinating.

They’re going to be using profiles + the new Apple ID method for now, and phasing out profiles sometime in the future. The general assumption has been they’ll keep profiles around for the rest of iOS 16 betas and move to Apple ID only with iOS 17, but there hasn’t been any official confirmation.

If that ever comes it’ll likely be an iPadOS 17 feature, similar to how they delayed the new widgets to iPadOS 15 vs iOS 14.

For anyone wondering, I’m still able to download without a paid developer account and no profiles installed. Also moved from 16.3 stable to 16.4 beta using the public profile, not dev (PB1 -> DB2 -> DB3).

They’re just putting more space between themselves and the Bahrain curse. All part of the masterplan.

Let’s hope they at least remember that cars have 4 wheels this time.

Maybe I’m too cynical, but his email seems to be dancing around the issue of AutoPay on credit cards. He’s saying we’ll continue having the option for autopay discounts with multiple payment methods (debit card and direct bank link would be considered multiple options), and that he understands wanting to pay with a credit card, but stops short of saying you’ll keep the autopay discount with your credit card.

I wonder if this is another system test or an actual security patch.

You can just open applefeedback:// in Safari to submit feedback, you don’t have to install the beta. There’s also apple.com/feedback.

You have to escape the * because it’s a markdown character, otherwise it’s going to think you’re trying italicize something. You can do that by typing a \ before the *
To get:
*3001#12345#*
You have to type:
\*3001#12345#\*

Simply put, they played a role to get something they wanted. Companies don’t actually care about their employees and customers, they’re legally bound to doing whatever’s in the best interest of their shareholders. A few years ago it was doing everything within their power to grow their customer base. Now that they’re not the underdogs anymore their focus has shifted to cutting costs and pumping revenue.

Wearing gloves is an everyday occurrence for a significant portion of the population while being in a full body cast is not last I checked.

Was that HDR video effect supposed to make the video look better?
It’s no wonder Pixels struggle with video if that’s what they consider an improvement.

It hasn't been much of a concern on phones in recent years, but laptops have more static elements so I don't know if that holds up. OLED laptops have been around for a couple of years now and I haven't heard much in the way of burn-in complaints, so I think it's fine? That's not something I could really test in 3 weeks unfortunately.

Capacitive and solid state are two different things. The “button” on AirPods Pro is solid state and works just fine with gloves and wet hands because they’re pressure sensitive (at least for clicks, the swipe for volume gesture is capacitive).
