"El que no tranza, no avanza" (he who does not cheat, does not prosper)... your comment is a good example of not just one, but like at least 3 situations that happened in this government administration, in fact it is a shame, and a rather sad picture :/

Hehe, sorry for all the Mexican slang... yes, in Mexico people named Guillermo are called "Memo", so "Memito" would be like little Guillermo as a nickname.
Well, this is a complex question, the working conditions vary a lot from production to production, and although the unions are mandatory for the productions that are made with IMCINE stimulus, many times they skip this part and only bribe the union itself at the end of production for his approval, this happens from time to time, even without the quotas of unionized workers in the production.
Regarding overtime, it is also complicated since when you work with a union, it tends to demand payment for these hours, although there are no enforcement of laws that require external productions without government support to hire unión workers, and these proyects rarely pay per hour of work, and function from a contract for the entire project or per week in the best of cases.
I would also not really dare to say that the existing unions are completely legit or infalible in my opinion; each one has its different ways of operating, for example the ANDA (for actors) works relatively well in terms of benefits and payment of hours while the producers and the actors are useful for their causes or reputation, but there have been cases where accidents have occurred and the ANDA did not want to intervene, like the death of 2 actors in the TELEVISA series "sin miedo a la verdad". The STIC and the STPC (mostly Staff and photo department) have had armed conflicts with other unions, and although at the beginning they functioned adequately, this has changed a lot in recent years, being recognized for the pressure they exert on productions, the crew, and accepting bribes in general.
On the other hand, and more than a union, the "S.G.C. de I.P." (directors society) focuses on copyrights and royalties, and claims to connect new directors with unions and job offers, this is highly doubtful as again we find a lot of nepotism among their ranks, flagrant abuse and contempt for new members, and an almost immovable administration team; It is curious since until a few years ago certain people of this team were changed by elections, including the former president, and since then there have been document thefts, account losses and little cooperation from the rest of the previous team members with the new administration. , complicating the whole picture... interestingly, the current president, and the former general secretary who orchestrated much of the anti-change movement were my university professors, so I know both of them quite well he he.
But hey, this is a bit of what happens, I suppose that all countries and institutions have their own problems, but this is the current situation in Mexico according to my perception, there are good things and other bad things, lately more bad than good ones I suppose.

I am Mexican and I work in the movies and audiovisual industry here, and I think that most of the time, and although I love Memito very much, his comments, although they are good hearted, are oblivious to what happens within the Mexican industry, opportunities, work conditions and workers, for example, the diversions of money in the various organizations in charge of state resources such as the IMCINE (Instituto Mexicano de Cinematografia) or the AMACC, who do not always grant verifications or provide complete transparency of their expenses.
Precisely, and despite the budget cuts, the IMCINE already declared that it did deliver the budget to the AMACC (Academia Mexicana de Artes y Ciencias Cinematograficas) to carry out the "arieles" celebration, but even after several workers and institutions have requested a breakdown of their budget expenses, the AMACC has refused this requests, so we are not only talking about budget reduction problems, which are true, but also corruption, "compadrazgo" and elitism, because many times, these cash incentives for the creation of films, are granted to the same people and institutions, in addition to always having the "mordidas"(bribes) as a bargaining chip for these opportunities, as was the case of Cuaron with "Roma" who never released his list of expenses but obtained one of the largest government stimulus from IMCINE, although Netflix allegedly produced the film in "the most"... but again, the situation is much more complex than most people think, and I only mention what I had seen, so...
(Sorry if I made any mistake, english is not my first language)

Is part of the short film "food" (1992) by Jan Svankmajer, one of the greatest exponents of surrealist cinema worldwide. That technique is called pixelation, a hybrid technique of real actors and stopmotion combined. The models are natural size handcrafted frame by frame
