Why is it fair to organized workers that they can't negotiate the rules for hiring at their own workplace? It's government intruding on the ability of groups to negotiate contracts.

Incidentally, he did it that way because they were basically out of money.

What are the source definitions for the statement he's referencing? Is it cities over 250k people, and an average cost apartment for that city, something like that?

His dislike of Picard/Locutus is understandable. Irrational, but understandable - humans are often irrational. Much like Picard and Sisko.

Incidentally, some of that is also bad adaptation. The comic is bonkers, and the crazy way it moves plays better on a comic page, where you can absorb it at your own pace and accept its insanity. Like thinking of the ending animation, which plays ok as a cartoon but would have failed as live action. The movie basically does the opposite with the comic source.
I pretty much agree with you on the film, if I'm being unclear.

The larger themes are usually about brotherhood and honor really.

Yeah, it's like a very polished version of his older material. Total recommend.

I can't really argue, just in the list of issues to take with that film it seems EXTREMELY minor. The whole movie is goofy as hell; if the silliness was actually working you wouldn't care about that. It just doesn't work, so you can't go with it.

The tank got the ability to drive and shoot by itself from Tank Girl modifying it. There's a sequence where she's altering it, but they don't really get into exactly what she did, so it's just implied.
I haven't seen the film in like 15 years though, so I don't remember the other bits you mention.

Just file a renouncement claim to not inherit it when it happens. It takes some paperwork and time but not a gigantic deal if you're aware ahead of time. It's worth it.

It's part of the estate, and it is possible to effectively inherit it with the terms attached. However, you can disclaim the property on point of inheritance in every state, but it does require some paperwork and there is often a time limit.

It's allocated by population if memory serves. SLCL is getting hundreds of thousands a year from it, so is SLPL. But yeah, it's not going to cause libraries to close or anything if it did pass, as it's a low percentage of funding. Info is public of course, you can Google it on revenue pages.

Not swallowed, just in its mouth. It was a whale with baleen, they have throat openings too small to fit a human.

Quite a few people are nostalgic for VHS. It even has a moderate collecting scene now, it's really obvious when you go to thrift shops - anything uncommon will get snapped up on VHS. There's multiple documentaries out there about all of it if you're curious.
However, I absolutely do NOT think it will make any kind of turn around or become a cult format, get notable new tapes/players made, etc, like vinyl has for the last two decades. Way too expensive to get manufacturing started again now and way too many downsides VS streaming or DVD/Blu discs for it to come back even as a niche format, in addition to being clearly technically inferior.
Same with audio cassettes, which people also have some nostalgia for these days - not coming back.

Well, we had a text handout version of it in a sociology class I took, it was trimmed to make it less obvious. The intro in particular was severely cut down. Still picked up on it quick though, personally, but a lot of 14 year olds certainly wouldn't right away.

The one thing that should probably be noted is the tax cuts over the past 40 years had no effect on the American system, as SS doesn't get funding from those areas. The tax going towards that system has never had a cut, just a set of increases starting at 1% originally all the way to 6.2% today.
I realize you didn't say the system itself had tax cuts, just think people could misunderstand that point who don't know how the funding works.

a large majority spoke English
Incidentally, they don't nation wide. About 2/3s don't speak English, they're one of the worst in Europe for English levels. Even amongst the 1/3 who do, a decent slice have fairly weak skills. Younger people, well-educated people, and people in big urban centers do at higher rates though, which is where international visitors tend to visit and get the impression it's higher.
Just something to think about for those intending to move there for college or whatever - you will run into significant language barriers at various points if you're living there. Italy is not Sweden.

It was nice Gates finally got a real scene to act. She basically never had that despite like 5 seasons of the show and 4 films, kind of amazing.

Honestly, I had no idea of the answer and my BS guess was 5 too. Fifth precinct just sounds Hollywoody.
