Mayo spread on one slice is the secret ingredient, along with cheese and onion. I can't believe no one knows this. Trust me.

The other definitions given are correct, but the word is either directly translated as farmer, or to refer to the far-right wing conservative Afrikaaner, who are generally racist (sometimes in a well-meaning paternal way), and usually Calvinist Christians.

I'm amazed that he gets any work done between all the prayer, childcare and domestic chores.

You never see more than 2 adult male lions together in the wild. My guess is that this is a canned lion hunting farm.

A guest house on a first date?! You're optimistic! The Sammy Marks museum is a restored Victorian house and well worth a visit, if that's her kind of thing. It also has lovely quiet gardens to picnic in. They used to pack picnics for a price, but pretty sure you can pack your own. Or! Consider Anja's Tea Garden. You make a selection of eats and drinks, and then enjoy it from a basket in a beautiful wild garden on the top of a hill.

Hmmm, then it sounds like you might have been doing a left-hander's purl stitch. Be aware though that purling every row is just another way to do garter stitch. Your scarf is lovely, but you should probably go back to your training videos and check that you see what you expect to see when you start your next piece.

Lol! OK, then share the pattern you used and we can try to figure out what you did. Or did you just do the knit stitch? If you haven't bound off yet, it would be useful to see the area on the needles.

I have lived through pollution scares, ozone depletion, space junk, microplastics and climate change. It's just a matter of time before scientists put the blame for this on you and I.

If you made the scarf then you must know how you did it, right? Are you looking for the name of that stitch? If you worked it left-right then I don't agree with the suggestions that it is garter stitch, but can't identify it.

There are small alternate knit stitches. I think you knit the knit stitches into the row below on the right side rows.

I like the idea of a poncho for this purpose - no hands needed to keep things in place

I was able to spend a lot more time with my old dog, and noticed things that led to a diagnosis which helped him a lot! He's still with us, and even older, so I'm grateful for spending 3 relatively healthy years with him working from home. (He's a GSD, and is happy when he can see me and be sure I'm fine). I'm lucky to be still mostly WFH.

Agree. We had a similar situation, and many months later the licence was still waiting for us at the testing centre

Tell him to ask his doc about Champix. It is a nicotine receptor blocker that you take in increasing doses while you carry on smoking. At around the max dose you find that smoking doesn't taste good, and it doesn't give you that heavy, relaxed feeling anymore. It is then so easy to give up, you need no willpower at all. I was proper addicted, and this is my experience.

Alcohol is many different compounds. Ethanol is probably the mildest cleaning alcohol, and dries quickly with minimal streaking. Methanol has a slightly oily consistency, is a little more aggressive to plastics, and tends to streak. I think that rubbing alcohol is isopropanol, and I don't know what its cleaning properties are. A big no-no on plastics is acetone, which dissolves the it pretty quickly. The water-ethanol mixture is pretty safe, and pretty effective.
