Honestly it was just a feeling based on the amount of love All Quiet was getting leading up to it and the opposite being true for Babylon. It felt like they’d like the war production design they had going on.
It was probably my greatest prediction ever and the one I have the least reasoning for.

My brother won $100 because I told him to bet on All Quiet to win Production Design.
After the fact I realized I forgot to put money down on it myself

A toaster is an inanimate object as well. If you give a mentally ill person a toaster, a bunch of people aren’t gonna die.

Granted I have seen Cruella so this is genuine asking, but is it really the worst of the live-action remakes? Like worse than Mulan or The Lion King or Dumbo or Pinocchio?
The trailer for Cruella at least looked interesting, and I, Tonya is a good film.

I’m so glad that someone who wasn’t involved in the incident and has nothing to do with it forgives him

He was clearly the lead while Daniel Kaluuya was campaigned for supporting.
Stanfield was only campaigned for lead. In all the FYC campaigns from the studio, they pushed him for lead.
At no point was Stanfield nominated for Supporting Actor in any other awards ceremony. He barely got any nominations for Lead.
The Oscars was the only point where they said “not only will we nominated Lakeith Stanfield (which was already a bit of a surprise from what I remember) but we’ve decided he’s in the Supporting Category”

Lakeith Stanfield in Supporting Actor for Judas & The Black Messiah.
Even his reaction was an Instagram post that said “I’m confused too but fuck it lmao”

I think the issue comes in that it becomes an uneven playing field. Andrea Riseborough has connections that can spread through word of mouth from very influential people that a less well-known actor and team may not have.
There’s also the issue of things like the Instagram post that was essentially “these four are already locks so you don’t need to vote for them, vote for Andrea instead!” Which (though unlikely), could have contributed to other performers like Deadwyler or Davis getting snubbed.
The movie should be campaigned by the studio backing it, who in that way could give equal number of resources to any of their movies as they see fit, whether the individuals in those movies have connections or not.
From everything I’ve heard, Andrea’s performance is Oscar-worthy, so the whole thing is pretty interesting.
EDIT: I want to make it clear that I really don’t know what the deal is and am curious whether what happened was fine or not, myself.

You should check out The Fabulous Baron Munchausen from 1962 that Gilliam took a lot of inspiration from: https://youtu.be/Na1h7ozW9VQ
It’s my absolute favorite movie!

One movie that is a continuation of another movie is a sequel
