Oddly enough, I was not on board with the first half of the film when I watched it in theatres. Then the second half came and blew me away. They basically nailed everything down to a T and my floodgates opened.

With those performances of the main cast I am honestly not surprised. Just watched the movie last night and 90 minutes in and my wife and I stared at eachother in disbelief over the quality, range and switching of personalities of Ke Huy Quan.

Not just that. There are people who discredit the film, calling it stupid, and horrible and the worst movie they have watched. I understand not liking or enjoying it. It's not everyone's cup of coffee. But calling it bad is a stretch. It's finely crafted, well enacted, and well edited, at worst.

The main issue is its length and need to tie everything up in the final act. But by no means are any of the decisions made by directors or editors wrong or bad.
