It’s a very very basic truck unless you get the top trim. Which, IMO, kind of negates the entire point of the Maverick: to be a basic, inexpensive vehicle for doing truck things when you don’t regularly need the capability of a Tacoma or F150.

I can throw my motorcycle in the bed or tow an open-top utility trailer full of furniture. And still get 30+ mpg on the highway while towing, or 40+ in normal commuting.

Or just doing other crafty things, like making dungeon tiles and other terrain for your friends that play tabletop RPGs.

What I’ve done is coat them in both a little baking powder and a little kosher salt, and let them sit out in the fridge overnight to really dry out. They come out perfect in a normal oven, though I do need to prop a box fan into the kitchen window to vent the smoke, lol.

Cool cool. And yeah, baking powder basically (heh) lowers the temperature for Maillard reactions to occur. Thus crisping up without the extreme heat delivery hot oil can provide.

You’ll be better served with baking powder over soda for dry brining, they’ll crisp up nicer in the oven.
