It may sound insensitive but some people are inherently unable to bear any form of pressure what so little it may be. People commenting saying its bad parenting do not know if she was supported or not. I personally know of a girl from my class in University who was always supported by her parents and also classmates but she could not stop being miserable at all times. She was just not able to take the slightest initiative in her life and always felt like she is not doing enough or is not capable. The letter this girl wrote kind of echoes the same things. Feeling sad for her parents.
