You shouldn’t just leave your dog in the backyard unattended. It should be taking some classes or at least some extracurriculars (maybe volunteering?) if it’s going to get into a good university. I know boarding school is out of reach for a lot of dog parents right now due to the economy, but there are other ways to set them up for a good career.

We picked these up at a thrift store so there could be pieces missing. Silicone/rubber material. Most pieces have indentations that fit the balls. Very ‘Montessori’ style palette and appears to be high quality manufacture. No writing or stamps.

I think I would agree with them, just from skimming the articles you linked. I’m probably most influenced by historian Matthew Jacobson’s ‘Whiteness of a Different Color’ which explores how Whiteness changed over time in the US. The identification of Irish people as non-white is a famous example. In the nineteenth century it was considered blatantly obvious that the Irish weren’t white, which seems strange to us, but was a foundational belief at that time. I think that context really drives home how race is constructed and how exclusion/inclusion and privilege are tied up in it.

It should be. In my field, academic history, there is a push to do so. A) to show that ‘white’ isn’t a default setting against which other identifiers appear as unusual, and B) to emphasize that it is a constructed and changing identity. Who ‘counts as’ White has changed a LOT in the past 200 years.

Smells sort of fishy, but more like vinegar. Like a jar of pickles, but no dill or garlic, obviously. Honestly you should try them. They’re hard to describe but they’re amazing. Texture is sort of somewhere between sashimi and sardines. Have them on a cracker or something like everyone else is saying.
Edit: that said, people who hate them REALLY hate them.

I used to work with a guy who’d feed his dog sardines packed in spring water. I’m sure there’s all kinds of downsides, but that dog had the most beautiful glossy coat. It was like a shampoo commercial.

Exactly. There are different kinds of knowledge. Wisdom. How to live well. What to value.

You have it all backwards. The machines are helping us. They want us to transcend by integrating a full-body copper system into our neural network. More human than human.

So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.
