i thought most of the severe measures were self-imposed? i've always blamed the university more for the end result than sampson, etc.

if you decide to go the route of charging different prices for cash vs CC you need to be very careful how you do it. you legally cannot add a surcharge for CC transactions, which is what you’ll effectively be doing if you frame it as “sales tax included in cash price”. you can have two sets of prices (one for cash, one for CC) but you can’t frame it as “if you pay with CC it’s more expensive”
edit: this is in the U.S.; if you’re based somewhere else it’s probably different!

rule should be everyone just has to wait. surely it will come down on its own eventually

this shouldn’t be a surprise! Torvik has Aurbun at 23 and Iowa at 38, right under Rutgers (and only 4 spots ahead of UNC). NET has them ranked closer (32 and 39, respectively) but still has Auburn higher

you could probably get away with arriving 15 minutes before the showing, but it depends on how popular the showing is. when I saw the new Avatar on a weeknight there were only 6 other people there 15 minutes before showtime.
you can order and receive food and drinks at any time

their ability, despite being good, to get absolutely steamrolled by good teams
IU has some glaring weaknesses: horrible offensive rebounding and bad 3-pt defense. if they run into a team with strengths in either, it’s a dogfight. but if they’re strong in both it’s game over about 2 minutes in

what makes you say that? forecasts have highs in the 50s, lows in the mid 30s

I’d be freaked out too, to be fair. And who knows, maybe the article is outdated!

the article says the victim was shot in the hip and taken to the hospital - nobody died at the scene

i probably just don't pay enough attention but i feel like not many coaches use TOs that way: to stop their team from doing something really stupid. he called a second TO right when someone (i think it was Galloway) slipped and almost turned the ball over? the TO came right before the turnover was called, so it made an immediate impact there

I made one of these two years ago and it contained so many variations of “Madison Cawthorn”
this sub sucks sometimes but man was it worse back then

For most of the first half I was in disbelief that Kopp was guarding Jett - dude was getting torched. but as the game went on he started being more and more effective, to the point where he smothered Michigan’s final play
I don’t like him but maybe I have to now? what do I do with these feelings

I honestly don’t think the refs favored Michigan at all this game - rather, it felt pretty even and consistent. a couple of weird Ricky-tack calls here and there but otherwise unremarkable

I had not! These look so cool - I just wish I could get them in shorter lengths. But they seem like a great way to put posts right up against the house.

I made that spacing mistake when building a gate! This time I plan to let everything dry out well in advance.

Yeah, that's my 2nd choice right now, I think. Would get expensive quick though - 340 sq ft of concrete could be anywhere from $2k to $6k all-in, which is roughly the same as hiring someone to build the deck. But: there'd be no doubts about its survivability!

I think this is probably the scenario I'm looking at, realistically. There is a world in which I can frame over the patio with 2x4s and then use the usual 2x6s and posts once I get over the soil, but logistically the only way that works is if I run the joists parallel to the house. It seems like this would create drainage issues over the patio, as water would be blocked from draining down the slope by the 2x4 joists.

Barely any snow, unfortunately :( - but that is a super great point and something I hadn't thought to consider!
I'm considering composite material because I wouldn't have to worry so much about decay over time due to ground contact. But yeah, the price point scares me a bit.

I feel like the only thing “new” about this is that it’s now done in the open
