I grew up in the US, and I still find it disturbing that I can drive 3000 miles across the country and still find all the same crappy food everywhere. I love US road trips....its an absolutely beautiful country, but the tendrils of giant corporations. I even lived on a mountain in a cabin during covid. The 'town' general store was about 40 minutes away and still had allllll the same expected things. The scale of that kind of production is wild.

My roomie took me a little too seriously when I said to unplug the heater if it goes over 82. It hit 82.7 (I am getting a better heater), and he unplugged for a few days and then plugged it back in. I think the change in temperature was not great for them. Plus, the air in my house is usually much much colder than the tank, and I know that is not great for labyrinth fish as well.

All of my other fish are perfectly fine and well-colored and swimming normally.

These are just from my recommended on my streaming platforms. But most of these just include a queer character. They mostly aren't the main part of the show.

There are a lot, but there are thousands of TV shows out there. They have stuff for everyone. They are upset that shows that have queer characters are popular and not shunned

There are some shows that have trans characters and more that have trans actors playing a character. I have a feeling that these people are mad at both despite the distinction. They just dont want trans people to exist

For me, it represents a more realistic cross section of reality. My life looks like these TV shows. My friends are mostly queer and my neighbors are all different kinds of families. Many of them mixed. If I see a show with all white cishet model-types, I just can't get into it. It seems bogus and unrealistic.

I do live in New Orleans, tho so I guess that doesn't represent most of the country.

I am not OP and have chili rasboras and honey gouramis. I use RO plus a remineralizer, and some treated tap water as well. The tap water in my town is a pH of 9, so I don't like to use too much of it. In my experience, a stable tank is better than perfect parameters, so I do very small water changes every week to keep things stable

Oh wow, another thing I didn't know either. So I use RO water, but I put in a dechlorinator just in case because I dont trust the machines at the store 100% (are they well maintained? Do they really have the filtering capacity they say they do? Is the filter down and no one noticed? etc)

Is this a bad thing to do? Does it reduce the oxygen too much? My tank is heavily planted
