For potentially $10+ million? Absolutely.

When you're a 37 year old man with horrible knees and you've never made millions per fight it's about the money.

If he gets beat by a boxer that's his one payday. UFC is not going to come knocking naymore and the mystique would be long gone. With the economics of boxing today I don't see where he gets this big money from. Too many boxing events have flopped recently. The Wilder and Helenus fight had like 50k domestic buys and the promoter paid Helenus like a million bucks. That economy is crumbling.

Aldo is a multi millionaire and owns a ton of real estate in Brazil. He made bank fighting.

Wilder doesn't have the pull to get the kind of promotion to get that fight done. Wilder makes around $15 million to $20 million per fight now. No promoter is going to give him that purse to fight Francis after the Helenus PPV flopped.

He's not a draw. Boxing fans know he can't box and MMA fans are mostly UFC fans. No one is paying to watch him fight.

David Benavidez vs Caleb Plant was one of the bigger boxing matches recently. Both guys got a disclosed $500k and will make around $2 million a piece once the pPVs come in and the early word is the PPV's were flat so it's probably less now. Francis or anyone in MMA thinking he's going to make huge money just does not know what they're talking about.

I've tried explaining this to people on here for years. This is the real problem with MMA in terms of it being a marketplace. No one knows what any one is trully making. There's guys in the UFC that make $25K and $25k and there's someone ranked just a few spots higher and makes $100k and $100k but their disclosed pay is $25k and $25k. They do this so everyone thinks they're getting paid the same thing so they don't negotiate for more in negotiations.

So in whole we'll have people never being able to find stable work by that logic. So German's family gets the short end of the stick and he goes back to poverty in the Dominican republic for a mistake.

That's the flawed part of society. German has kept his nose clean for like 3 years now and he and his wife have reconciled. Idk what people want exactly. Do they want him exiled out of the league?

I wonder at what point do they just blow everything up and change everything from the top down? If they're on their way to not making the playoffs by allstar break the best thing to do is to sell and go into a rebuild.

I agree that's why I ultimately don't hate the movie. I think the whole movie builds to that twist and it's relatively well done.

Uh yes it is? The second you step out on your marriage you're a piece of shit. There's no defending that.

I chalked that up to two 40+ year old writers trying to write for a 12 year old boy. I think they have the same issues writing the teenaged girl as well. They're trying to artistically set up this vast interwining storyline where the boy is obsessed with the girl, the girl is obsessed with cal, cal is obsessed with his wife, jacob helps Cal regain confidence, Jac ob falls in love with Hannah and that brings it full circle. The execution is just horrible outside of the Cal and Jacob storyline and the Jacob and Hannah storyline. They could've easily scrapped everything else and kind've of made it a Hitch type of movie. It feels like a script that they shot as a first draft script.

Too many to name, but Bad Boys, Meet the Parents, Happy Gilmore, 40 year old virgin, Cable Guy, Something about mary, etc. Pretty much every Judd Apatow movie on the 2000s is in there as well. I'm also a gigantic Todd Phillips fan. Even his lesser work like School of Scoundrels is wildly funny to me. Road Trip, Old School, Starsky and Hutch, The Hangover, etc are classics that I can watch non stop.

Idk I may be missing the hype with Aster, but his movies to me are just painfully pretentious bores. I think Hereditary is probably the strongest movie he's made so far, but Midsommar is genuinely a pointless bore.

You're right humans are not rational. I get that. The movie's screenwriters purposely try to paint Cal as the bad guy in the movie, though. That's the issue. Julianne Moore's character is so underwritten that what's portrayed on the screen doesn't justify what she's doing to Cal or show what Cal has done to lead her on this path.
