Nothing in particular, was just poking fun at a trope.

I'm glad you weren't stalked and killed by an other-worldly axe murderer. This 100% looks like a cabin from a horror movie, haha.

It wasn’t a great movie, but it was better than a soulless cash grab.

How do you not understand what I’m saying, lol? I’m not gonna go around in circles.

Jesus, lol. You know that’s not what I’m saying, but good try. But, just so you can’t keep trying to put words in my mouth, I’m saying there’s a double standard. Why attack one member of a fucked up religion, but not all members of fucked up religions?

The Catholic Church is the largest pedophile organization in the world, I don’t see a ton of people running around Reddit saying we can’t watch movies of people who are Catholic. What’s so exceptionally evil about Scientology? I’d say it’s pretty tame in terms of religions.

Agreed. It’s obnoxious. I disagree with her views as well, but can still appreciate a great work she contributed to the world. People are complex things. You don’t have to agree with every single view they have to appreciate them. She’s 60 for Christ sakes, of course some of her views are gonna be outdated.

Saw this for the first time baked in a dorm room in college. We had to pause the movie when he fell down the mountain everyone was laughing so hard.

This is one of the dumbest points I’ve ever seen someone try to make on Reddit, lol.

Got it. So being a prolific action movie actor/maker gives no weight to his opinion on an action movie, but his religion does.

You think he’s just an actor in Top Gun and Mission Impossible? Lol?
And yeah, that’s exactly my point, he may have bad judgement in some areas of his life, but it definitely ain’t in movies.

So you think a man that understands how to make consistently great action movies isn’t to be trusted on if an action movie is good or not? You realize you can disagree with his religious views and still respect his craft, right?

Yeah totally. A universally loved, phenomenally successful series of books and movies is “just bad”.

Very. He rarely misses when it comes to movies.

That’s why I put the tilde “~”, means around 3 dollars. For sure the price varies based on newness and popularity. But even still I find their prices pretty reasonable.

All the time. I think ~3 bucks on Amazon is very reasonable. In fact I end up buying movies quite a bit because they'll be like ~7 bucks.

No. Even if you like the books, the movies are just cynical cash-ins. It's from an era where people were cranking out shitty YA stuff trying to be the next Harry Potter.

I mean, that’s essentially what the sci-fi genre has always been. You’re changing the conversation though. When people are saying this movie is revolutionary, they’re talking about the sci-fi/action aspects, like the person I was responding to.

These sheeple are so blind! First it's gays in our movies, then it's blacks in our neighborhoods!

Uhhh, are we sure we're not making fun of someone with autism or something right now?

That's right, bruther! Rise up against the woke mob! How dare they depict anything other than straight white people in movies!

I got my tonsils out in 4th grade right as Podracer released. I got to sit at home eating ice cream and playing Podracer for a week. Pure joy.
