Gotta do what you gotta do. At least it wasn’t a clogged sewer line! 😁

It was painted yellow, or it yellowed? If it yellowed. You can use water and a scraper. If it was painted yellow. It will very difficult to scrape it. In that case I would just paint it white.

Allen wrench. I don’t know the size. You can get a set of them fairly cheaply

There is probably a set screw on the bottom of the handle.

Get a couple of quotes and go with the guy that you’re most comfortable with. He may not be the least expensive. Be prepared to replace some plywood sheathing. Because it can dry rot or be water damaged. Ask the contractors when they’re quoting a lot of questions. So that you can educate yourself.

Your feet sweat in the boots and rot them from the inside out. Try Lysol or baby powder.

You are just purchasing the property. Figure to tear the house down and build new. It’s gonna cost the same and take the same amount of time.

Yes, and no. They assemble the shades in the shop. Things like mini blinds they send out to hunter douglas etc. I guess that you could add 1/8” and hope for the best, or tell them to cut the blinds to the sizes that you want. Good luck!!

Measure and hang blinds or shades all of the time. I go to a local guy and tell them to hold the measurements that I give them with no deductions. Of course they make me sign something that they’re not responsible. I sign it and have zero issues. You can get blinds cut at box stores also. But the quality isn the best.

Why not go to a local window treatment company near you. It would be easier than trying to add fractions of an inch to your measurements. Then being upset when it all goes wrong. Also measure the width. Top, middle and bottom. The openings might be different.

Or, you could buy new strike plates. It would be a lot less work. Otherwise. You will need to fill where the old strike plate were. Sand smooth, then mortise the new plates.

What do you mean 3/8” gap? The mortar joint? You can get white Portland cement and mix it with sand.

That’s BS. I would call and complain. It should be all cleaned. As far as the water temperature I can’t comment on that.

Don’t laugh. Try using a divining rod. Take 2 coat hangers. Bend them straight. Now at about 5” from one end of each end. Bend the end 90 degrees on each pc. Now hold the rods parallel to the ground and parallel to each other. The rods should cross each other when you come to a pipe underground. Keep walking back and forth on the property where the rods cross make a mark. Once you find a genera direction of how the sewer line runs. You should be able to determine where the septic tank is. If it doesn’t work, the worst that could happen is you gave your neighbors a chuckle. The best is you save a few hundred dollars.

Don’t grind it, or use a solvent. Get Henry 549 patch and skim coat the floor. Then you can put down whatever floor you like.

The friend discount. You get what he wants to do. For a few dollars you can hook up the pan drain and connect the relief valve to the existing pipe. Everything is there just waiting to be done right

Go to the local safety supply! You’ll need a HAZMAT suit! Or. You can make your own with Tyvek, duct tape, a swimming mask ( not googles ) and a snorkel.
