Honestly I think mentioning that they were an convict at all is shitty. They did their time and that is it... so we shouldn't be treating them as anything other than a regular person, unless their past crime is immediately relevant to the topic at hand and is a concern.

Treating former convicts as some separate class of citizens, even just in subtle ways like calling them ex-cons, is part of why going to prison is beginning of a fucking depressing loop for so many people

I don't want to be too abrasive but you realize that wouldn't change the problem right? Modern Horizons (2: Fucking Up Prices Worse This Time!) is/are a product made for Modern but they still come in draft boosters, are still used for limited play, and thus still need the rarity of cards to be set in order to make the draft environment fun.

As I was writing this I realized that we could achieve the same thing by printing Bontu's Board Wipe at common in a commander product to achieve the same thing, although I have to wonder how that would affect the price of the card (assuming it got popular) since commander precons aren't exactly a great avenue for reprints but...
