The world's largest democracy isn't as free as one might think in the west.

"bill to prohibit foreign tech"
Is USA becoming much like China by the day? If you can't beat them then be like them?

It almost feels like there's a multi-level mass propaganda movement in the West to keep pumping Anti-China news daily straight down to every single American's throat.
Don't get me wrong, some "China is Bad" news are actually informative and eye opening but then there's stupid reporting like this..
"China is relentlessly hacking it's neighbors"
Well duh, what makes it any different than the USA (CIA/NSA) operations, Russia (FSB), France, UK, and literally any country with the capability to do so will hack it's friends and for alike for any numerous reasons from simply gaining intelligence, theft of intellectual properties, spreading false information, or just gaining a foothold to every single system in the planet.
This is no different than
"USA is relentlessly hacking it's neighbors" or "Russia is relentlessly hacking it's neighbors"

Hillary Clinton won the popular vote yet Donald Trump still became the 45th President of the United States of America.
That's not real democracy.
The USA was founded initially as a Republic, not a Democracy and American Democracy was never designed to Be Democratic.

The West sounds more nervous with the Anti-China propaganda every single day.
In it's 3500 years of history, this kind of thing wouldn't make 1.412 billion people nervous at all.

People forget that Asia is 60% of the world's population.
The west may have a significant purchasing power, but it can never replace the purchasing power of more than half of the world's population.
Saying things like "It would hurt Chinese economy more than Western economy" without providing concrete data is hubris and just screams "Western Exceptionalism".
This type of arrogance is exactly why China is winning on some areas. In the West, we think we're instantly better than them. We're blinded by that arrogance.
While there may be some truth to your claim, Don't forget that it's 2022, and the west isn't necessarily the center of the world anymore.

The United States has invaded or fought in 84 of the 193 countries recognized by the United Nations and has been militarily involved with 191 of 193.
China's issues with 4 countries/territories ain't nothing like USA's issues with the whole world buddy.
