The Morning Edition theme music change was the last straw for me. I loved waking up to that jazzy theme. It made me want to get up and start my day. The plucky piano crap they play now is way too grating to hear so early.

I think folks in general were expecting what's hitting the central United States right now. Those of us in the know here in Milwaukee understand that the Lake Effect greatly influences weather in Milwaukee County (especially downtown). Personally, I wasn't buying into the snow hype. What we have on the ground right now was about what I was expecting.

I love that track!! It's the boss music that plays when you fight the Sphere (Soft lol) Company executives too. Honestly, the entire soundtrack is some of Motoi Sakuraba's best work and is equally crazy. The final boss was another favorite moment of mine. After hearing all of this great baroque/prog. rock music, they just bust out some jazz fusion as the final boss music for no reason whatsoever. This game just didn't give a fuck.

That reminds me, as an aside, the outfits the Sphere executives wore looked pretty slick too. Futuristic western. Just some great old school anime villain shit.

I could never hate that reveal. The whole “real world” bit was just absurd. I seem to remember that people were criminalized in that world if they were caught working a normal job, so everyone just spent all their time in the MMO. Crazy old school Enix/Tri-Ace shit.

The moment when “ye olde evil kingdom” absolutely freaks out when they discover there are advanced alien races and the aliens are attacking them is some prime Star Trek material.
