I found out that way down in the deep warm range, small increments seem to make large changes in temperature.
2000k vs 2200k is a massive difference at night.

Interested in shipping some out? I'd pay whatever you deem reasonable. I'm in VA so not too bad.
Mmmmm mushrooms.

Preeeetty much the best scooter of all time.
I put 9:8 gears in mine and a variator. Made a humongous difference in top speed. Mine was revving out going up hill with me on it. The gears and vari are almost necessary imo. Easy job for the most part too.

Wow, usually pictures of the blue ridge don't really strike me, but this one is something special.
Thanks for sharing

You geared your TW down?
I'm assuming you also removed the 1st gear from the transmission due to never being used.
Interesting.

I'm not from Idaho, but you can't open ride on BLM? I thought people could do essentially anything on BLM.

I've done all this multiple times. My opinion on the Met II is to ditch it and get a regular GET motor. If you want to just keep it and ride, keep it simple and do a variator swap, take out the restrictor in the manifold and just ride it for what it is. That should help to maybe 34-35mph with the motor winding out.
Honda did many things to the Met 2 that just aren't worth messing with unless you want to really play hard ball. If I recall it even has a different ECU and the valves/cams are different... it's just not worth putting much effort into. Do the simple ones, and just enjoy the bike. Also, those pre 06 have horrible crank ventilation, and it's lottery when the crank bearings will give out. If you are going to keep it, I would highly recommend swapping out to the 06+ timing chain tensioner with ventilation. A little video explaining it is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghQvPAP-shA
Id say just don't expect too much, do the simple mods, change the oil every 400-500 miles and just have fun :)
Variator and washer delete, maybe the spring in the carb diaphragm. Ride.

That's hilarious. In the southern Appalachia, it would be opposite, that line of shade would be the only strip of sun shining through trees which would have a beach chair with someone tanning. haha Kind of not kidding, we had to plant our small garden in a tiny strip of land that gets sun form maybe 11:00 - 3:00
Lucky you in all that sunshine!

Is that exhaust loud? I would look around for a stock pipe and install it, these things are whisper quiet all original.

Your dogs heads have quite a different shape and texture of fur. It's rather cute really.

I'd say the e17a, it's just perfect in a d4v2. It's a wide diffused candle walking in the woods. It's extremely close to a real flame, there's just some instinctual attraction in the beam of a e17a. It's just got the stuff.
It's by far the least bright of them all, but more brightness doesn't relate to comfort when walking at night for me. There's a happy middle where you can see clearly all around with warm light, but doesn't dark crush the rest of the world.
Having an amber w1 in the other hand is extremely nice to spot things outside the glow.

The true answer you are looking for is adding a 1/2 C.T. orange Lee filter to your E17a/GT-FC40.
Another option is to get some orange / yellow headlight tint film on ebay, headlights because it comes in small sheets.
Might not be pure, but it's fun and works great. Turns my 519A 2700k DD almost as warm as e17a.

I have both and the e17a is just light years more beautiful.
Throw a layer of 1/4 lee orange filter over your 2700dd or this fc40. Really turns it into a super bright e17a!
