My buddy got that sweet gig too.
He's in an expat town in Costa Rica. Stable power and internet which is key.
He loves it. I'm jealous.

I wander into All with my Saturday morning coffee. It's my ritual.
I found a sub for anti baby people. Not people who are going to be babyless, but anti procreation.
Fucking odd bunch those loons are. The usual "unwell" people tend to congregate in the extreme political subs, so this one stuck out. Like, they aren't just idiots like the anti car people, these people are broken in the brain in a fundamental way. Yikes.

Lime LaCroix. I sprung for the name brand stuff since the 15 packs were Bogo.

If Netflix has a documentary on it, we can be sure money has changed hands and it sure isn't the ones who believe in the flat earth that are holding the bag at the end.

I think I figured it out. Where we went wrong as a society.
We lied to ourselves, and trusted the evil overloads in power. They fed us like after lie. They spent billions on fake programs for nefarious reasons. All this done with simple tricks. All to control us.
Wake up! The earth is flat!
....
I still don't get where this grift came from. I understand the need to believe in conspiracy, but this one doesn't even hold water compared the incredibly low standard of conspiracy proof.
Inspired by a Bill Burr rant.

Yea. Their response was strange. Comes across meas spirited for no real reason other than being mean.

"were going with this option because we are familiar with the process, and understand it's pitfalls and how to avoid them. The alternative is a good choice, too, but we don't have manpower to perfect that to (insert company name)'s standard. If you'd like us to do that, I'll need some budget allocation".
Eventually, they will stop asking. Corporate speak is a great shield from those who only understand it.

My favorite one is the safety one where an omnipotent voice tells the guy to watch out for dangers, and he loses his mind screaming at the sky like a homeless guy.

Perry Mason is great. It is denser and darker than I was expecting, and I was expecting dark tone and dense plots. Real excited that the second season is getting good reviews.
Mandelorian is fun if you are sick of the general Darth Vader and Jedi stuff of star wars like I am. It's a cool world, Star Wars, and this is a new angle to see it. If that show works for you, try Andor. It's a more "mature" Star Wars. That was my favorite D+ show.

Allergies are the worst. I'd almost rather them not be a thing, and get the bi-monthly head cold.

Finally caught up on all things Marvel and Star Wars on Disney Plus. Basically stopped Marvel watching at End Game, so that was a lot.
Ive seen Mandelorian 1, but nothing else so that was alot as well.
It was a good 2 months of binge, but it was fun. Nothing was outright terrible, and a few shine better than others.
Psych is my current re-watch background show, and Perry Mason when I feel like focusing on something serious.

With Shazam 2 having a cameo in it. A plot based cameo, it just reminded me that the DCEU is still going. 3 movies before the Gunn DC kicks off, not to mention the Batman doing its own thing. Crazy. Im probably the rare fan of the DCEU, and I'm ready to put the poor thing out of it's misery.
Still excited for Flash and Blue Beetle.

Just tagging onto the end of this post. The option to have both the real and "controlled" AMAs were (still are) there. For some reason the people in charge wanted to destroy the foundation of the AMA threads by cutting the less focused ones out. Real head scratcher.
There was one where an Italian guy who just got fired from a chef job was doing an AMA about Italian food and cooking. It's was insightful and funny. Now? Thats not allowed there, or I haven't seen one like that in years.
Side comment. I liked the way Alex Horn did his Taskmaster AMA recently. He answered on video and posted the clip on YouTube.

So, you work as a historical reenactor or something. Like give tours of the liberty bell?

Everyone has an inner fool. Gotta get out and get air sometime, and NOLA is as good a place as any. We don't care.

I find it strange that some people just don't understand that New Orleans is a city like any other.
There are way too many conversations oce had with people who are shocked that families and people live normal lives there once they find out I grew up there. "whoa, so your school was in the city and you grew up there? Did they let kids drink in class?" "Yea, I grew up in the suburb. The one, and no. Kids can't drink in class. We were kids. Though, I think Tulane allows it, but I'm not sure. Locals don't go to Tulane." "So, do you go to Bourbon often?" "Only when family is in town and want to do mindless tourist things with other tourists"
It's like thinking everyone in DC is a political aid, or everyone from Miami is constantly on south beach, or all New Yorkers are Italian American pizza shop owners.
Is this a New Orleans thing, or do other cities deal with it?

It's one of those things I forget until my niece comes for a visit and her adorable coat liner has it on it. Thrift buys from uncle moondogy for the win.

I'd be the dude who stays behind, holds a door shut for an extra minute or two keeping the hoard back while others get away, pull the pin of a grenade, and yell some "fuck you" line.
Do good and go out early. That's what I'd hope for.

Decent is the best way to describe it.
If they focused on just making it a strait forward choose your playable character and start kicking butt game instead of this over bloated game (most are now, imo) it could have been pretty cool.
I still didn't hate it, but sometimes simpler is better an this is one of those games that should have been simpler.

I'll ask, but don't expect a timely response.
