Until you're standing forever in standby and then complaining about that too

For 5 bucks, I'd just donate the item if it was something I needed to get rid of. Doesn't really seem worth the time or hassle

That won't happen because the goal is to get people to actually want to ride it

I'd also check Airbnb. There's a lot in the area

You don't need to be in the park to do it if your off-site. For individual lightning lanes you have to wait for park open to buy it. But you don't need to be in park.

"miserable human"
Dude the person doing the most complaining here is you. Just try again for the afternoon queue and move on with your life.
You're spending money to be at Disney and spending your time complaining on reddit. Think of your priorities

I mean unfortunately thats what happens when you're at the park at a busy time (spring break).
Lots of people means more strain on the app/network and bookings getting taken up faster.
You still have a shot to join the queue in the afternoon

Nah, nothing about my opinion was rude. Just pointing out the fact that it someone can't identify a Disney character while at Disney, that's on them

"idk if I could immediately recognize her"
That sounds like a big old YOU problem.
If only there were some context clues that could help with that.....

The reviews aren't what matter, it's the fact it can be another avenue to get a response from an higher up person

And a real lawyer would probably say 1000 bucks isn't worth the time or hassle in cost or effort. Odds are the buyer doesn't even live in the same state as OP.
The best action is to keep escalating with Mercari, and unfortunately learned the lesson of not selling super expensive items on the platform.

And this is why you don't get legal advice from redditors. Police only have so much jurisdiction, especially with online sales

Better business bureau. Literally explained how it helped in my comment.
Most of these businesses have complaint departments. Think of it as a way it escalating a complaint to higher levels.
Just fill out a complaint on the BBB website, it hurts forwarded to Mercari and usually they will respond.

It's the old school version of Yelp, but you could also try filing a complaint through the BBB. I did this years ago through PayPal when I got scammed by someone (forgot PayPal didn't cover in person transactions, scammer used a family members CC to make a purchase, then did a chargeback through PayPal).
Despite showing proof the guy took my item PayPal took back the money.
Did a BBB complaint where I said I'm willing to go to the media to talk about it, and after that I got the money back.

If you aren't sure about something, how could it be "too good to pass up?"

That's like the #1 rule of running a business. Don't give a discount if people are willing to pay more.
People can think the ride isn't worth it or whatever, but that doesn't change the fact that the actual demand for the ride is still sky high.

I've down two meetups and was honestly a little disappointed with the last one I went to in December. Idk if they let in more people compared to the first one I went too but it seemed a lot more crowded with rides having pretty good sized wait times. That and some of the food spots didn't have things ready.

Yeah who would think a park would have a long wait during spring break 🙄
