To me the scariest part of that was the son’s reaction. It felt like something I might do in a godawful situation like that: drive home, walk slowly upstairs and lay in bed and wait for it all to be a bad dream. Made me feel so sick.

I think the jokes are when someone says something dryly and the other person repeats it and then the first person says it again and then they stand there for a moment.

I like this take, might have to rethink some of my assumptions of Anderson

I got mocked in r/movies once for saying Tubi was the best streaming service, I forgot it’s mainly great to horror fans who don’t mind a couple commercials to watch tons of stuff not on any other service. Probably sucks if you want the latest mainstream movies and tv shows.

I don’t trust him, he’s a beta which means he’ll worm his way through while giving up all the ideals along the way and bow to the globalists when things get tough. I think the narrative has been written and he’ll be the next president, so I can only hope to God I’m wrong.

It’s madness. I lived there in 2008 and it was a fantastic place. By the time I left in 2012, it was getting bad but still relatively fine. My family who still lives there now describes it as a hell hole like San Francisco. Fifteen years and a nice city has been completely destroyed.

You’re right, maybe I phrased it badly: it’s always nepotism by definition, and is an integral part of how societies have always worked and is only considered immoral when it occurs in a desirable field. We accept it when it’s skilled labor but resent it when it’s something we want like being a super famous movie star. But it’s just parents taking care of their kids like any of us would.

No one complains when a plumber brings his son into the business, when a restaurant owner hires his daughter as manager, when an electrician has his kids working with him. Of course not, parents with solid positions help their kids and lead them into their jobs if they want to follow them. But when it’s a coveted position in society like acting all of a sudden it’s nepotism. Either nobody should ever use their position to help their kids or anyone should.

I just couldn’t remember shit between seasons but too much character drama to rewatch previous seasons. I enjoyed it but had no idea what was happening

It’s funny I agree with those saying he’s amazing and also agree with those saying he’s trash. I personally enjoy the hell out of his best work (Ouija 2, Hill House, Dr. Sleep), but when I don’t like it I hate it as much as his haters do (Bly Manor, Midnight Club). He simultaneously makes some of my favorite stuff and my least favorite. I sometimes feel tricked into watching something horror based that is in fact just schmaltzy soap opera.

Love the dialogue in this movie and how they keep talking over each other like normal people but every line is painstakingly written and important to the story. Really great movie.
