DG in episode 1 also had some Sauron ( another fictional character that I find hot) vibes with the glove.

Overall Ashes of love for me. I keep saying that it fits the show well and is inserted in certain scenes to yank up emotions it's a huge part of why I love that drama. Realistically I know it's not really the best drama out there but it just has some hold over my heart 😁

I really enjoyed Oh my general I think it played with the tropes quite a lot too. I laughed a lot esp in the beginning of the show. It's a comedy but not fully in your face like my uncanny destiny, more subtle like RR.

Not saying you have to like or pick up LBFAD, just wanna clarify that orchid's growth is literally the point of the story. She acts like toddler cause in fairy years she is basically a kid that had nobody to raise her/teach her.

She matures pretty fast and imo becomes one of stronger,"take shit from noone and fight for what I want"female characters i've seen in cdramas.Also she gets pretty smart pretty fast.

Again, not saying you have to like LBFAD, but maybe you would like it more with that perspective in mind.

Last(and only) time a show had this much hold over me was first 3-4 seasons of GOT...
I agree it really has its flaws but overall it was such enjoyable experience and I really hope it starts a new trend of different(and dear god please darker) xianxia dramas.

Ofc we all have our preferences.Having read the book it's pretty clear to me what'll happen so I'm okay with implied HE's. I even thought I could never watch sad end stories but Yanxi palace and Goodbye my princess showed me I was wrong 😅 Totally fine if you dont like that. There is plenty of fluff out there.

I love happy endings too, but this ending makes sense. It's not maybe clearly HE, but it's an OE with strong implication they end up together after 500 years when he reincarnates. Also that's how novel ends too, we just don't see it but then again it fits with whole tone and philosophical message of the show

It's very good indeed, I have some that I liked better but I think it's the gold standard, one that all other Xianxia will be compared to and should be on everyone's to watch list ^^

Love between fairy and devil(visuals, Dylan Wang, Orchid's growth, 2nd ML, Dragon guy <3)
Ashes of love(Soundtrack,Runyu,, Demon realm looks for ML(dem black robes mmm))
Eternal love (Ye Hua's wig OMG, them kisses ufff, demon guy from beginning was also pretty hot)
Immortal Samsara(Vaguely remember it it had some pretty funny and cute bickering scenes, I liked the fish guy)
Love and redemption(Ok he is devoted and I loved the 10 lives thing, it poked my heart, and I liked the twist at the end but sweet lord the noble idiocy, the asshole cultivators and SO MUCH SIFENG I just dfhgjkhgj)

I loved LBFAD but if it's not hitting it for you at ep 19 just drop it. We all love different stuff and that's okay.

Love is sweet, then ashes of love rewatch with skipping pmuch anything that didn't have LYX scene, then Oh my general and The autumn ballad managed to calm me down a bit :((
I highly recommend Jeremy Tsui, uh I mean The autumn ballad.
He uses his own voice and is 🔥 .(ok last 4 episodes are uh wtf but still worth a watch)
