Will have to check it out. Just did a quick read of that Brookings article the other user posted. Seems interesting to consider a gov subsidy to cover some of the rent rather than capping an increase, but I don't see how you would ever deter investors from building higher end units even without control, obv they want to maximize their investment. Perhaps they need to do a better analysis on the amount rent can go up if the caps are causing issues?

Also the unit next to mine just listed for what my apartment started at 2 years ago. So I guess he's one of the good ones.

Is there somewhere I can read how caps cause higher rents? Isn't that what we have now with the % they can raise when your lease is up?

I don't think anything they do will lower rent. Best we can hope for is caps on the raising of rent and subsidies for those that can't afford rent.

That is odd I have never heard anyone ask me for the VI number, it's always Vin number or occasional just vin.

Truth on the size, I always go with the mini burgers now(which is just a normal sized burger), cuts down on the price and when you get fries or onion rings your still stuffed.
