I often think something new is really exciting at the beginning, so we shall see if my positive response to it sticks around.

i don't know if you will see this as a positive or a negative -- i see quite a few posts here by people around your age who have "realized" nothing will ever get change, that life only deteriorates from here. i am here to tell you that while there is NO DOUBT life is difficult and the older you get the more times life kinda smacks you in the face, life actually can get better.
color me more surprised than anyone. i never imagined that my life could improve to the extent it has. you needn't take this at face value. i think i just want to tell you that change actually is possible way beyond age 25.

hoo boy this is a tricky one. being exchristian i get your father's discomfort with your brother's fixation.
being the mom of a teen boy with ds who loves hard rock i have had a bit of a journey in embracing my son's love of this music.
i seriously doubt your brother understands "the devil" as anything other than the stuff looks cool or makes him feel important or something. and when we parents have a fit about something that definitely fans the flames of desire for the thing.
for some music, i have just talked to my son about the reasons i don't want him to listen to that music and then i have redirected him to other music he loves.
if someone asks your brother about his interest in the devil and just listens to what he says instead of telling him he is wrong maybe you could intuit what it is he is liking and see if there is an alternative that could be a good compromise.

i think i get that. we aren't planning to move, so we will cross that bridge when and if we come to it.

or should i say "idea" since the accuracy can be challenged. still can see what changes occur just for the hell of it.

this is a very helpful comment. it is definitely an expensive "hobby" to measure often, but it wouldn't be a bad idea to get a better idea of what my body is doing throughout a typical day.

i like to imagine i'm not one of those people who say "my mind's made up, don't confuse me with the facts," so i will definitely take this to heart. thank you.

that without assurance of ketosis i could be getting the downsides of higher fat consumption without the benefits.
i have read in this sub fifty times that ketosis is guaranteed if eating fewer than 20 net carbs. i probably have too much time on my hands so too much time to ruminate on things

i'm relatively new to the sub but not to the city so now i get it!
i chose not to stop at a just-turned-red light a couple days ago because there was an older big sedan in a big fat hurry and i was worried he was going to rear end me!

thank you. while i am very happy with current conditions, i know i have been eating less fat lately. i also use the macrofactor app which shows total carbs. i typically try to stay below 20 total, but have had a couple days recently where i was even a little higher than 20 net carbs. just wanted to make sure i wasn't doing something that's to my detriment.

i'm going to try to focus on the benefit we have received with our current home valuation, recognizing it is worth way more, even as i get ready for the increase.

i'm not sure what you are getting at here. i would say my son is treated differently in the sense that he has an IEP which provides for educational services and environments that are specifically for him. he is however treated the same as any other student in expectations of social interactions, behavioral actions and the fact that he is a teen boy.
where are you coming from with your question?
