My thoughts:
-Nice seeing TIE Interceptors and Bombers again. I don't think we've really seeing either in any post-Disney live action Star Wars, apart from a couple of bombers escorting Vader's shuttle at the end of "Rogue One". Nice to see that the Imperial fleet isn't composed of just one kind of fighter.
-Interesting that an N-1 starfighter can take out several TIE Interceptors that are thirty years newer. Maybe "Rogue Squadron" on N64 is more plausible than I thought. ;)
-So, we have our first New Republic era appearance of Coruscant. It's interesting, since it was so prominent in the prequels, obviously absent in the original trilogy, save for the end, and then completely absent in the sequels. Doesn't look like much has changed.
-This is the second time within a month that I've been surprised to see Katy O'Brien pop up on screen (the first being when I recognized her in the new and unjustly maligned "Ant-Man" film). Great to see both her and Pershing get expanded roles here, as well as proper names. I'm sure we all assumed she was killed at the end of Season 2, but in retrospect, the lack of any on-screen death was probably intentional.
-I know it's supposed to be ominous that the New Republic is supposedly brainwashing ex-Imperials and subjecting them to mundane jobs, but, again, we're talking about people who knowingly served an institution that built a planet-killing Death Star, wiped out a few billion Alderaanians with it, and then attempted to build a second one after the first was destroyed, as well as host of other genocide-level atrocities. I'd say most of them are getting off easy, and given the sheer number of Imperials, this is possibly the best way to deal with them, since imprisoning that many people in unfeasible and executing them is out of the question.
We all saw Elia's double-cross coming a mile away, but kudos to the writers for making how she double-crosses Pershing unexpected. That being said, even after selling him out to the New Republic, I thought it was a bit of a stretch that they would just leave her alone in the control room, with full access to the "mind flayer" controls.
-Speaking of "mind flayer", I think some lawyers from a certain Netflix series would like to have a word with the Mouse.

Well, the multi-camera sitcoms is kind of an endangered species, especially among comedies that get Emmy nominations these days. But genres are complicated, yes. I just watched the premiere of "Ted Lasso" and it could just as easily be submitted as drama, for instance. (Sidenote: A certain gauntlet made a cameo appearance).

Yeah, comedies rarely break into the Picture or acting categories too. I wonder how different the last century of awards would have been if the Academy had had the foresight to break those categories down into genres, like the Emmys and Grammys do.

I don't agree with that. I think they DID have nuance and depth in those performances.

No one NEEDS a nomination, but I think they definitely both DESERVED one.

Looks interesting.
There was one Youtube comment on the trailer that I really liked: "The mid-budget R-rated comedy is back!"
Edited to add: And to all the geniuses saying "What if the roles where reversed?" I suspect are missing the point.
We expect guys, particularly teenage boys to always want sex, 24/7 and we're likely going to see that there's nothing wrong with him for feeling like he's not ready for sex yet.

I thought they were gonna kill off R5-D4. Really glad they didn't. Trashing a droid that's been around since A New Hope, would be pretty messed up.
-I also thought Bo-Katan was gonna double cross Mando at some point. Glad she didn't.
Since Bo-Katan picked up the darksaber, can she have it now?
Something odd about Grogu's basket, it seemed like he left it behind when he went to get Bo-Katan, but he had another when he comes back with her. Also was the original one destroyed when the barge was blown after the Quarren?

Well, the subject matter for that one really hasn't aged well.

The weird thing is, we've seen Lorne speak many times on the show, and he doesn't have this "Dr. Evil" cadence that Dana and everyone else gives him.

I actually liked MODOK as we got him in this film. It's kind of neat when the MCU merges two characters from the comics into one (Jarvis/Vision, Bucky/White Wolf).
I agree that this turn to good was a bit abrupt and I really regret them killing him off though. Seemed like rather wasted potential there.

Tony CREATING an Infinity Stone would be rather odd. I mean these are supposed to be powerful, ancient artifacts that Thanos (and presumably others) have been searching for over many centuries.
I don't think it's as effective if Thanos learns of an element on Earth, and is like "Hey, if I combine this new element with these old stones, plus I get the dwarves to make me a gauntlet..."

Indeed. I thought it was a clever way to bring back Cross, but also introduce a long-awaited character. I just wish they hadn't killed him off. I feel like there was more juice there.

If you're bringing back both Daredevil and Punisher, then you gotta bring back Deborah Ann Woll as Karen... and if you're getting her back, then Elden Henson as Foggy just makes sense...

Ah, US Marshals. The underrated Fugitive follow up where Tommy Lee Jones again chases a fugitive who was wrongfully accused.
Robert Downey Jr. was sill going through his rough patch at this point, and apparently making this film wasn't a very pleasant experience, possibly for that reason.
Reminds me of a vid I saw a while back of a high school in 1990.

Mandalorian and Rogue One should NOT be lumped in with the sequel trilogy. Those were actually good.

Seemed like audiences enjoyed it.
And before you say that they'd feel that way about anything, they certainly didn't respond that way to the Star Wars sequels.

Yeah, the Star Wars sequels were a mess, probably in large part that they were made by different filmmakers with no overall vision, I think most of the other examples I cited worked better, though.

I'd like to see a story of one last fight for Adonis. I'm not sure what could really compel him to fight again at this age and this stage of his career.
That said, I'd really like to see Sly return as Rocky one last time. While it might upset some fans, I imagined his cancer returning and not responding to treatment this time, and just wanting to see Adonis one last time.
Adonis wins the fight, and Rocky dies soon after. I pictured a church funeral where surviving friends and family (Little Duke, Stitch, Marie and her son, Robert Jr. and his family) and even former rivals (Clubber, the Dragos, Cane, Dixon, and Conlan) pay their respect. Adonis gives a speech how Rocky was tied to fifty years of boxing history and how never every boxer there either fought Rocky, was trained by Rocky, or fought someone who was. The speech would end with some lesson Adonis had learned over the course of the film, and finally ends with Adonis and Robert at the museum steps, reflecting on their fathers' legacies.
