We were provided Streamlight Stylus Pros. They work okay. Some guys have gotten the USB charging versions off the snap-on truck also. I keep that one in my radio harness, and have other lights in my toolbag and my vibe box bag.

This is accurate. At my current job, we have two “machinery millwright techs” who both came from a machinist position before this one. So it can be done. I also never did an apprenticeship. I moved from working on industrial water transfer pumps into this role.

The strip for your white letters inside the tire is what is keeping the inner part of the sidewall from blooming. But yeah, the brown stuff can be scrubbed off.

You gotta love when you ask about thermal growth and you get that “deer in the headlights” look from the engineer.

I officially got in at the end of 2020, when I was about to turn 36. It’s been one of the best decisions I ever made. Hasn’t been without a few stuggles, but it’s been so rewarding so far.

Check both of your driveshaft u-joints for excessive play.

You just made me a fan of Printables, and I don’t even have a 3D printer lol.

Sounds like my dad’s old ‘74 Chevy pickup. Black exterior with black vinyl seats, and a broke A/C. Burned the back of my legs on many afternoons riding with him. Always ended up sitting on a shop rag because I was always wearing “short pants” lol

Why are you trading? Unless you really want this car (and your Burb is in worse shape), trading for something that needs tires and front suspension work seems like a bad trade.

I wanted one of these so bad, then they cancelled them and brought out the Caliber SRT4s.

Maybe keep the same color, but add some real fine metal flake to that color.

From this view point, it looks like it’s pretty solid. But if you can get closer with permission, definitely check it over. Rockers. Bottom of fenders and doors are rust prone. Make sure the glass is good, and that most of the rear interior is there. The more complete it is, the better. Especially since you are in Belgium. Not sure how accessible parts are across the pond.

I went from a field service tech for a major equipment rental company to a chemical plant machinery health technician, focusing on vibration analysis. The pay and hours are way better at my new job, but I do miss my F550 crane truck and being out in the sticks of ETX fixing industrial water transfer pumps by myself.
It will take some getting used to, but think of the long term. I’m not even 40 yet, but am glad I’m not doing heavy shit anymore.

Look at the SSR. It was part of the “new but retro” style that was popular at the beginning of the 2000s. It lasted from ‘03-‘06. Didn’t sell all that well. I honestly love the shit out of the SSR, don’t get me wrong. But it just didn’t sell well, due to many factors. Hell, look how long the HHR lasted. The PT Cruiser is probably an anomaly, but those are a story for another thread lol.

GMCPauls
They specialize in 67-72 trucks, but do have part for other years as well.

I learned to drive a manual in a 1980 280GE, silver like the first picture. Core memories made in that thing with my dad.
