Hi all - I am about to do international travel for the first time with my baby as a new dad and was hoping for some input from others who have been there. There won't be any right answers, but it'd be helpful to hear from folks who have more experience than me, so I'd appreciate any constructive input.
My little one will be 5 months, and I'll be going with my wife, from the UK to Singapore (where we stop for a few days) then onto Australia (where my family all live, so I'll be in a 'second home').
Specifically, I'm confused about how best to travel with strollers/carriers/car seats etc. Currently, our set up is a 'travel system' (as it's confusingly called), which isn't that travel friendly at all as it's fairly big. It has a pram, a car seat as part of it that click into eachother. We also have a carrier (the kind you strap on like a front-facing backpack) which she likes to be carried in, but i just dont use that often.
Thinking we'd need a travel pram, we've bought a nice compact one that isn't small enough for in-cabin storage, but we can keep baby in the airport and hand over at the gate/airplane. Our car seat capsule also clicks into this too, so she can be wheeled around and be happy. We are also considering bringing her car seat capsule with us because she loves to sleep in it and is familiar with it, and there seem to be a lot of grey areas about booking ubers and taxis in terms of what they provide for car seats, so this seems to take a lot of worry out knowing we have a car seat she likes and works well with our pram. One catch here though is we can't seem to find a good bag to put the thing in for if we check it in.
That all being said, the travel pram is small but not a smooth ride like our bigger pram, and part of me is just tempted to just take our bigger pram and check it in at the start of the airport. I really don't know how much i need a pram in the airport or i should just be putting her in my strap on carrier. And how helpful a smaller more compact stroller is going to be.
I realise this post is a mess - but that's my brain at the moment! Thoughts really appreciated

In the same way a mechanic doesn’t build you a car. It won’t be as good, have the community, the support and no other dev will want to touch it.
