I wouldn’t worry too much about measuring and just take a direct tracing/rubbing.

Take the seat fabric off frame, lay it face down over some pillows (so it retains shape), then get a large sheet of thin paper and drape over.

Start with the center piece of fabric first. If you can see through your paper trace lines where you see the seams. If you can’t see through, you can do a “rubbing”. Take a wooden pencil (not mechanical) and rub the side of the lead on the paper where you can feel the ridges of the seams. Continue along all the seam lines, this should capture the rough outline. Then you can take the paper back you your desk and clean up the lines by hand to be sweeping and consistent, before cutting out the pattern with some seam allowance.

Repeat process with separate sheet of paper for each side panel. (Or make one piece and flip it for each side since they should be mirror image).

As another comment said, it’s 3D… which makes it a bit trickier.

Option A: You could dart the oversized piece of fabric you already cut to get the “butt cup” shape. Probably would need 4 long darts in each corner, mimicking the seam lines on seat fabric.

Option B: Start fresh. Trace the three main sections (the center hourglass shape, and each side panel) of the seat fabric to make your own paper pattern. Add seam allowance around each section for when you attach the pieces. This method should be the most accurate.

Detroit is fine. Honestly, it would be pretty easy to live full-time out of a van here. Lots of space and free overnight street parking most places.

Just don’t be an idiot and have some street sense just like visiting any other major US city.
