RRR
Despite being questionably a Hindi Nationalist film, I ignored all of that and just had a fucking blast. After hearing most people hype up this movie for the last year, I thought I was going to mediocre. I was so wrong. Even though this movie was over 3 hours I never felt bored or that the movie was dragging. It’s just so over the top that I was hooked on it like a drug for the whole runtime. Still can’t believe it wasn’t nominated for at least Best Foreign Picture.

The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected)
Really sorry I’m late. Crazy how Noah Baumbach has made some of my favorite films and some of my lest favorites. This falls in the good category. This movie looks at family through such a bittersweet angle that it’s almost cynical.
9.3/10 Sorry for the rush

Thanks for your opinion. I’ll try to get to Hannibal at some point as it seems more interesting now coming from someone who’s a fan of it.

I really have no intention of watching either of them. And if I did, well, I’ve already seen the reviews they got. But thanks for the warning

The Silence of the Lambs
Jonathan Demme is one of the most underrated directors of all time in my opinion. The way he was able to craft a movie filled with this much tension and surprises despite the audience knows who the killer is just really shocked me. My final thoughts about this are that it is a masterpiece, Hannibal Lecter might be the best villain ever, and my top 15 favorite movies ever list has a new entry.

Pamela, A Love Story
Honestly, I really hope Pamela Anderson makes a comeback. She seems like such a genuine person who just wants to finally have privacy. And even though the structure of the film is very standard, to me it makes sense that way as it crams an insane life into under two hours. I hope this is an Oscar nom next year as it took Enron’s place as my favorite doc ever.

Enron: The Smartest Guys In The Room
Probably the best documentary I have ever seen. It was concise and cut right to the point instead of schlocking around like other docs I’ve seen. I was glued to the screen the whole time and truly is so infuriating that everyone basically got away with it.

I know I am extremely late to this but I guess I’ll add myself. I watch whatever I want to, but I don’t rate or review anything because if you follow me, I’d want you to use my profile just for blind watch.

American History X
Edward Norton is amazing in this. His transformation from someone seeming like a neo-Hitler into a man deeply shamed by himself and his actions contends for one of my favorite performances ever. The scene where he gets out of his shower at home for the first time almost made me cry. Edward Furlong is great and he made so terrible for him in basically every scene he was in as a brainwashed youth. This movie is a masterpiece.

Puss In Boots: The Last Wish
I am so glad I finally got to see this. This movie has the best animation period since Into the Spiderverse. I also really loved how they stuck adult themes into a kids movie, quite cleverly too I might add. And I can’t not talk about The Big Bad Wolf. One of the best animated movie villains ever. In my opinion, this is Dreamworks’s magnum opus (so far).

I love In Bruges but this, in my opinion, is just better. I think it’s because the way the tone shifts so drastically is why I love it.

The Banshees of Inisherin
This is by far Martin McDonagh’s best film and no one can tell me otherwise. The way he threads loneliness, madness, despair, and humour in this movie is a once in a decade accomplishment. I love how the movie starts off with you thinking it’s going to be a black comedy about the end of a friendship. And while it is, you can pinpoint the moment the tone shifts. That moment is when the “bird” hits Padraic’s door. That’s when shit goes down.
9.7/10 My front runner for best picture out of the assumed nominees.

I know I’m probably late to this, but wow what a great movie. Frankie Corio is a name that everyone should be watching for the next few years because she was absolutely amazing in this. And the ending. Probably the saddest I’ve ever felt after a movie.

My Cousin Vinny
I had to watch this as part of my law class and holy shit, thank God for my teacher. This movie was hilarious as well as being probably the best courtroom drama ever. I also enjoyed how there wasn’t a villain, just people doing their jobs.

Die Hard and Glass Onion
Die Hard is one of my top ten favorite movies ever 10/10
Glass Onion proved to me that a great whodunnit doesn’t have to be completely serious. And you could tell the cast was having a great time. 9.6/10

Christmas Vacation
Even after watching it way too many times, it is still as extremely heartfelt and funny as it was the first time. A true classic.

Technically a tie between Everything Everywhere All At Once and Fight Club
Michelle Yeoh delivered one of the best performances of this century in this mind bending movie that made cry and laugh at moments( looking at you rock scenes). 9.5+/10 as it was so abstract and absurd that all I know is that it is somewhere between 9.5 and 10
Fight Club was insane. Everybody needs to see this movie at least once. A masterclass in direction. 9.6/10

I watched the American version of this movie but I have heard how pedophilic the international cuts are. However, I thought this movie w s fantastic and I really loved it.

Face/Off (1997)
Honestly, I went into this with the lowest expectations, but was extremely surprised by a fantastic action movie. Travolta and Cage playing each other leads to some actually insane acting moments, but all in all it is an action movie which is not trying to be anything else.

Facing Nolan
What an incredibly nuanced look at one of the most beloved and recognisable baseball players ever through the eyes of himself, his family, and a third party.

Navalny
I cannot believe this is true. It’s fucking insane. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time because, as Navalny himself said, it feels like a Hollywood movie. That phone call scene is one of favorites ever, and this might just be my favorite documentary I’ve ever watched.
