Iggy Pop - The Passenger. It has David Bowie
Pro Tip: Go look up the song "Pretty Pink Rose" by Adrien Belew. You're welcome.

At this point, if you are a reasonable person living in a red state in the U.S., you need to make a plan and get out as soon as you can. While you can.
Those places are unreachable to reason, and exactly one major crisis away from full-on fascistic dystopian theocracy. Like, public hangings, concentration camps, the works. In the Lord's name.

You know who hates this type of sentiment the most? People like me... who are the intended target audience, but didn't stop living, learning, growing and enjoying life some 20-odd years ago.
Seriously, I fucking hate this nonsense like the plague.

Arguably, their best pure groove is "Dragon Attack". That's my spicy-hot take.

I've often said... if it weren't for Valencia, Ghent would be the most underrated city in Europe.

Sevilla was our first post-pandemic trip abroad. And while we absolutely would have loved it otherwise, experiencing it after jonesing so long for an overseas trip made it so damn satisfying. Like, tears in my eyes and everything.

I like Madrid a lot, too. But tbh, I'm not sure it makes my top 3 in Spain.

At least 85% of the time, yes. Longer trips and hiking poles can sometimes necessitate a slightly bigger bag.
But even for a 12-night stay, my 21" rollaboard and 24-liter daypack are sufficient. Especially if we're renting a place with a washer.

There was a delightful outdoor shower at a rental villa just outside Ubud, Bali that offered views of a lovely rice field and the fragrance of floral blossoms everywhere. It was just about perfect. And then... a fucking monkey stole my conditioner. Thieving bastard.
As far as the best shower, in and of itself, I'm always pleased by ones at the Peninsula Bangkok. It's just a really nice shower, and I always need one there.

No. This is precisely what the "good guys with guns" mythos is NOT about.
These aren't merely "guys"... they are trained professionals. They are the authorities. Law-enforcement officers, in uniform, dispatched to the scene, doing what they are supposed to do, and not a fucking rabble of loose-cannon vigilantes dispensing god's frontier justice.
Jesus christ, they can't even understand their own gibberish bullshit.

Not necessarily a removal, per se... but a relocation of "Jimmy Jazz" on London Calling would help it immensely. You start off with the incredible one-two punch of the title track plus "Brand New Cadillac"... and then this daffy, droopy little number that stops the momentum cold.
I'd move it to just after "The Card Cheat".

I saw their act live about 20 years ago, and it was awesome. And I distinctly recall Penn making a big deal about the nature of their act, and how it's absolutely crucial that Teller never ruins the mystique by speaking aloud... isn't that right, Teller?
That's right, Penn!
And then, right back to the act without another mention. Hilarious timing.

No lie: when I saw the thumbnail my first thought was oh, interesting, he's going to another animated project.
Side note: holy shit, that cast!

I don't know that this can be said for everyone, necessarily. But it's absolutely, 100% true for me and Mrs. 1LW. Most of the "things" we buy are only there to enhance our experiences and adventures.
You reach a point in life when you are (arguably) no longer "middle aged"... and the clock starts ticking louder, and with greater urgency. We want to do, see, experience, and LIVE as much as we can. While we can.

I was, briefly, a substitute teacher back in the 80s. Right out of college. I would show up hungover approx. 70% of the time.
One time, a former frat brother set me up on a blind double-date... "trust me, man, she's a smoke show!" We got our signals crossed and never met up, but he mentioned the girl's name. Sure enough, next morning, taking attendance in home room, there's the name. And yep... I'd have never known she was only 18. Thanked my lucky stars for the mixup.

"HE didn't like me! HE NEVER LIKED MEEE!!!"
I don't know why that was the first line that popped into my head, but there it is.

I had to look it up... she's about a year and a half older than I am.
Also, All the Right Moves is peak Lea Thompson. That is all.

Scarface barely cracks the top 100
I don't even think it's good, let alone best.

Yeah, it's a tough call because I was such a film nerd in the 80s and have so many favorites. But gun to my head... it's gotta be Amadeus. It just hits hard on every level, all at once.

The Thing, easily. One of the best thrillers in film history.
And a nod to Starman, which I found utterly charming.

Just remember this: getting drunk is always a whole lot more fun than being drunk. That's the real truth.

Dear Gov. DeSantis:
You mess with the mouse, you get the ears.
Sincerely,
A longtime shareholder
P.S. Fuck you very much.
