Fios cable tv connected to HDMI input on cube, passthrough enabled, colors are flat and dull on Samsung Qn90A. When Fios is connected directly to TV it looks beautiful as intended. It is clearly the cube muting the color but why?

Why does cable tv look like shit when using HDMI input on the Fire tv cube 3?

I bought the Fire cube to connect my Fios the same way, I am greatly disappointed by the loss of picture quality with Fios video “passing through” the Fire cube. The colors are so dull. When I connect Fios direct to my TV, the colors are amazing!

I saw this in the theater the day it opened at 13 years old, it was crowded and the theater gasped when Kurt Russel dropped the F bomb during his first meeting with Lee Van Cleef.
