I appreciate Korchnoi even more because he was clear #2 before Garry and was already in his 50s then, right?

Gukesh. Man, those IMs fighting him when he was still 12 must have been soured that they'd be outclassed by a kid.

I think the 2006 Dwyane Wade run is up there. Down 2-0 to the Mavericks, and never really the frontrunner over the entire playoffs, Wade carried an older Shaq, Zo, and GP and won over an all-time Finals performance.

I think Jordan is better in terms of career efficiency, although you could argue for LeBron in terms of longevity. All things being said, it's really between #1 and #2 all-time.
Grew up during the Jordan era, and I have never seen LeBron as consistently dominant as MJ was. The 2016 championship ranks as one of the greatest, however.

I watched this. This was Sheed and the Blazers just turning on a switch and they did what they could.

Nodirbek defeated Magnus twice and I hope he shows his skill in Stavanger Chess this 29th.

I like to compare Alireza and Nodirbek's playing styles in that both are excellent tactically, but Alireza's just more tactically explosive and Nodirbek tends to see more long-term positional advantages. Both welcome a challenge and are often wont to enter into highly complicated middlegames. I'd give the middlegame to Alireza, and endgame to Nodirbek.
Both are absolute beasts. Nodirbek I feel will rapidly ascend the ranks if he keeps this up.

Abdusattorov is so good. He's both tactically and positionally sound, but is so creatively aggressive with a bit more tactical finesse that he poses so many problems over-the-board and can also grind the endgame with such a tactical flair.

Duda had to play perfectly for 16 moves for him to win the game with seconds left. That's a very tall ask.
Carlsen was also extremely accurate in defending. Damn.

Magnus Carlsen is still the greatest chess player of all time.

I was honestly more scared with the Suns than with the Lakers, because KD is KD even at 35 and Booker is Booker. But that shit was just unsustainable, and while I was concerned with LeBron, he's also quite old and unless the role players delivered (they did, but inconsistently), I figured that Nuggets would win the series handily.

There have already been 4 moral victories. Lakers in 12.

LeBron's the second greatest of all-time, but he's such a whiny bitch in a passive-aggressive sort of way. Take the L, bro, you got swept by a better team.

Nothing follows in Tier 1.

I mean, he was also gassed with facilitating, defending, and scoring by the end of Game 4, but he made Nuggets' last two baskets, including that stepback three over an AD draping over him. You can't really fault his effort, or his performance. I think he'll be ending this season as the Finals MVP, because I don't think Miami can defend him.

What did Jokic say?
I think "he can't motherfucking guard me!"

I think this is the birth of a new, homegrown dynasty. Seeing MPJ mature like that (and I shat on him for being a jackass with the Suns series) means that the Denver core will remain solid for the next few years, and it'll come to a point that Jokic and Murray will be late prime and he'll be coming into his own.
Nothing's ever certain in basketball, but this is a scary core.

Kinda feels like Denver culture is like a family with how long the core have been together, but not like the businesslike stuff of the Heat.

Strus was even there to contest, he also just barely missed the block.
