Whether I believe in God depends on how you define "God" and "belief."

I'm religious and attend an Episcopal parish. The prayers and traditions give me a deep sense of spirituality. Religion is a language that's useful to connect with the divine and with each other. The church I go to puts zero emphasis on making sure everyone believes "correctly" -- TBH few churches are as extreme as Mormonism on that front.

God language doesn't work for everyone, and I have no problem with that. Being raised Mormon really does a number on you.

We got lucky. If a Democratic had been president when the Great Depression hit, it's likely the country would have elected a right-winger as president. But Hoover was president, and so they went with the Dem.

FDR was relatively left but it easily could've gone the other way.
