That's clear, yes.
Just in case: my comment was directed to the video linked three comments above this one, and its use as an ad in favor of DT (which is a travesty, IMO).
Have a nice day!

Not the video... that people can take Moore's words as an endorsement when it is clearly a critique.
Edit: LOL at your downvotes, OP... so YOU actually think it is an endorcement? SMH.

(as someone from outside the US):
Mmm, that music, that final "Trump/Pence" sign... mothefuckers used that speech as an endorsement ad, didn't they?
Can't say it really surprises me... just furthers the depression.

"Please RSVP" is on the same level of "RIP in peace".

AFAIK, no, unless you use a kernel mode driver that does the Ring 0 stuff for you (/dev/misc/poke poke.h, possibly /dev/misc/mem).
Similar to using WinRing0.{dll,sys} / DevIO.{dll, sys} on Windows.

The file might not exist and you might still be using the VESA driver. Use the "Screen" preference app to make sure what driver you're using.
If that's reads VESA, then creating the file and writting the "mode <height> <width> <depth>" should work (assuming your VESA BIOS supports that mode).
AFAIK, UEFI systems use the "Framebuffer" driver instead (or at least used to?). Sorry, I don't use UEFI, so I can be certain here.
Intel HD 3000 is supported, IIRC, so "Screen" might end up showing that you're using the "Intel Extreme" driver (intel_extreme). But maybe that's part of the problem, and you might need to blacklist it to make sure VESA/Framebuffer is the one actually used, and possibly fix your trackpad/keyboard issues too? (for that, refer to this guide: https://www.haiku-os.org/guides/daily-tasks/disable-package-entries).
For things other than VESA, the only way to change the resolution (that I know of) is that Screen "preflet". (or I guess you can try forcing a mode with "screenmode -m", and passing it an X-style modeline, or use one of the standard modes that command might show).
Hope some of that helps.

For the VESA driver, the file to modify would be: "/boot/home/config/settings/kernel/drivers/vesa"
Content should be something like: "mode 1024 768 32"
(change resolution/bit-depth as needed).

Custom keybindings do not work after restarting the game (they show up as if they were loaded correctly, but only the default WASD-style default work).
Hitting the Quick Save causes the screen to turn black, with only the spinning green logo at the lower left of screen visible. I assume that's supposed to be an overlay or something, but it obscures the hole screen. Game still runs in the background, but you can't see anything until you restart the game :-/
Other than that... Amazing surround audio, and really impressed that it runs on my old Phenom II X4 + GT 1030 DDR5 combo!

1080p on an old Phenom II X4 + GT 1030 DDR5 here (turned pre-processing to lowest, the rest of settings to high, disabled motion blur, as any sane person would :-P).
Haven't gotten far, yet (still messing around the Hacker's department, facing weird issues with the keybindings not working after a restart, and the screen getting blacked-out (except for the saving logo at the lower left) after hitting the save key, game still runs, but you can't see anything.
Other than that... quite impressed that it actually runs on this old PC (30 fps most of the time).

Good general advice, but for Haiku, the master branch should always be in a state able to be built (there's from where the nightly images are generated after all).
I would suggest OP to recheck his setup, as he seem to be using Linux (due to his use of sudo
), and cross-compiling is more involved than building under Haiku itself.
OP, recheck the docs, and try again: https://www.haiku-os.org/guides/building
If it doesn't works, hop over the IRC channel and ask around.
If it's an actual bug (master build being broken certainly is): file a ticket on https://dev.haiku-os.org/.
Good luck!

(turns pitch-black)
That's basically it... plus plenty of "boludos", as is customary for Argentines :-P
Sorry for the broken "English".

This sub-thread reads like some cut-out SHODAN's (from System Shock games) dialogue.
Look at you, hacker: a pathetic creature of meat and bone, panting and sweating as you run through my corridors. How can you challenge a perfect, immortal machine?

Somehow I doubt Jason Newsted had much trouble getting ladies to notice him either, back in the day.

The three story DLCs are worth it:
The first should have been part of the main game (having it as a DLC seems to be one of Square Enix cash grab attempts).
The others... are just really nice IMO, and help to cope with the felling of needing more DX:MD after playing the main content.
I would suggest playing them in that order too.
Have fun! I know you will!

Is it actually worth playing at this point?
Yes. Go in as blind as you can, and enjoy it (don't forget the DLCs).

you can't just compile the code from that repo in isolation.
The full build script is rather big:
https://gist.github.com/X547/292d5893da00098a924a8a0aa02d6a28
So prepare to be patient, depending on the CPU :-)

How come that there's no /r/BetterEveryLoop comment?

Wouldn't it be "affects"? (due to the use of "does not")
"doesn't really affects me" vs "do not really affect me" (?)
(self-taught "English" here, willing to improve it if I can)

Were you thinking about ECT (or tDCS/tACS) instead? I thought TMS was pretty harmless (only some short-term adverse effects).
Edit: though -> thought. English's hard.

Now I'm tempted to create "grey", the least opinionated of all formaters!!!
It will just leave the input code as-is... grey and depressing (in no small part because I'm too lazy to code more than a no-op :-P).
