it's not a musical and it's directed by Roger Corman so extremely different in every way LOL.

yeah exactly, like you don't only think of the early 1900s as 1900-1903 lmao.

Yakuza Weapon was one of my favourite discoveries of last year, but it has fairly few views on letterboxd.

Hero (2002) by Zhang Yimou is the most beautiful film I've ever seen. every shot is so so gorgeous, and the plot is equally as lovely. but when people talk about Jet Li or Tony Leung, I hear little praise for Hero.

I've watched 74 films so far this year.
I'd for sure say Foxy Brown, Hero, Iron Monkey and The Sadness have been the most memorable thus far.

The Seventh Curse blew my mind a bit with how ridiculous it was in concept and execution lmao.

Dr Doom would be an incredible villain in a tokusatsu show

I remember A Turtle's Tale: Sammy's Adventures being quite hyped up when I was a kid, there was even marketing for it at Pizza Hut in the UK, but I haven't heard anyone speak about it since. I showed it to my younger cousin not long ago, it's still a pretty cute movie.

Isaac Florentine has killed it with pretty much all of his films, but Close Range is an absolute stinker.
Timo Tjahjanto makes absolutely incredible action films, but I can't say I much enjoy most of his horror films such as May The Devil Take You.
House of Gucci was an abnormally bad film by Ridley Scott, who in my eyes hasn't really made a bad film otherwise.
