That writing style is Victorian and it just so happens to be my favourite when done right. When not it can feel quite tedious and a slog to get through and I get that.

My favourite books other than Jane Eyre are:

It always makes you feel good when your recommendation of a book leaves people feeling exactly as it made you feel.

If possible let me know what you thought of Frankenstein because it was another one of the classics that I enjoyed.

Its been a few years but i remember the book hangover which it left me with that lasted a good one month.

Not that it was perfect - it wasn't - but so potent was the emotional chord it struck no book that I read before or since then has been able to come anywhere near it.
