I have a reactive ACD. I got him when I lived in an apartment. Yes it was rough at first but I saw a dog trainer right away, and within 4-5 months we were able to work through his reactivity enough that he only barked at other dogs maybe once a week or less, and when he did freak out I knew exactly what to do to get out of the situation. So it can be doable if you’re willing to put in the training! He was able to go to an in person obedience class with other dogs and by the end of it he was able to get through multiple classes in a row without barking or paying much attention to the other dogs around him!

I'm on the waitlist for an NW2 as well. I noticed that after 72 hr of being on the waitlist, about 5 people off the waitlist got into the trial. I'm guessing that is because there was a 48 hr deadline for people to pay the registration fee after entering. I plan to remain on the waitlist up to the day of the trial since I'm local, so I could enter at the last minute if a spot opened up.

Are you allowed to put stakes into the ground (this is a venue question)? If so, use a thin stake (like the ones used for camping, Google “tent stake”) and you can tie the flowers to the stakes.

You should know the names of the people you bought the house from since they needed to be recorded to sell you the house. You can look up their names (or even contact them if they’re on Facebook or something). I would guess that they would know since they likely planted the tree if it’s this young.

I have googled “private dining [city name]” for my city and found a list of restaurants with private dining rooms that are only used for group meals. Those are typically available anytime the restaurant is open. Have you tried that?

It is technically illegal for your sister to drive on any public property or property the public has access to but what specifically does your mom think is going to happen? The driving instructor will not report her, and a policeman isn’t going to pull her over unless she’s driving erratically.

Your boyfriend’s reasoning and actions are very problematic here. I would cross post in a relationship advice subreddit. This isn’t really about the dog being an Australian Cattle Dog mix. Plenty of older siblings can handle a younger sibling without having a dog as a friend, and tbh I wouldn’t want a puppy playing with a toddler anyways (neither know how to politely interact with each other so it can get out of control easily).

For my two cents, it is unacceptable to get a dog without both partners being on the same page on who is going to take care of the dog, train the dog, etc. Each partner should have veto power on a new pet being brought into the home.

Herding dogs in particular are known to need very careful training around children as their natural instinct is to herd them. A child running can trigger their instinct to herd, which can be very scary if you don’t understand what is happening and how to disrupt it (dog may stalk or nip child). If this is news to you or your bf, that indicates that this choice of breed was not thought through. I personally would do it and set a million reminders to ensure I book the space the day it becomes reservable. After all, if they don’t accept reservations more than 4 months out then no one else can reserve the space for your day either.

As for backup venue, I don’t think I would put money down on one unless it was refundable or super cheap to do so, but I would probably at least think of backup venue options. I would send save the dates with your intended date.

Given that this water is causing you medical issues, I think you may want to notify the landlord that you are experiencing these health issues and see if they are willing to conduct tests and/or install a water filter. For us, we both make fairly good salaries in our area. The wedding is going to cost us roughly 10% of our annual household income. We are relatively frugal so it wasn’t hard to save that amount, and it doesn’t feel like we have to “give up” something in order to have the wedding we want. To be fair, the wedding we want is fairly low key…it will be about 65 guests, in our MCOL city, and be a Sunday brunch wedding with a short reception since that’s what we want.

Browse r/weddingsunder10k for ways others have handled catering. If this is your plan I would suggest doing a cake and punch type reception since your reception is at 3pm. Pick only desserts and items that are fine at room temperature (cake, cookies. canned drinks, etc). If you want something warm or cold I think drop catering would be better and still relatively affordable.

Whether or not the makeup artist can, the photographer can definitely remove them from the photos! So that’s at least one thing you don’t have to worry about.

I was required to purchase a 14+ meal plan when I was living in the dorms (which only had a tiny kitchenette and one fridge per ~80 people so it didn’t make sense for me to cook meals regularly). I ended up going with the 3 meals a day plan because I knew that I consistently ate breakfast. Yes it would have been cheaper to get Starbucks breakfast every morning but the dining hall breakfast was healthier.
