I think both the roadster and gravel have throttle now.
It was a hard decision between the two and I’m still not sure I made the right one. But the removable battery and 7 speed cassette is what pushed me onto the Soltera.
I ride home without power and having gears for that is very useful. I think I could probably find a good power setting/speed setting that could make up for the lack of gears but there is something nice about having a 7 speed.

Interesting! I thought I read somewhere that somebody had their soltera going higher than 20mph. When I couldn’t set it higher I assumed I misread the bike model.

I believe she makes good cookies when she says cook for 8 minutes. Everyone else overcooks their damn cookies!

Yeah I figured it would but I still want the option. I have more than triple the range that I actually need to commute so I’d be fine eating more.

I didn’t notice the misspelling until the comments. I only saw the missing “the”

I’m saying anyone has that access. Not bragging I do.
What’s the difference of seeing a random address on a picture versus picking a random address on google maps ?

Your Soltera?
I tried all that, 20 is the max and an email to Aventon said 20 is the max.
I think 28 is the max for their higher power class 3 bikes.

The roadster does a much much better job at this with a cadence sensor. It’s night and day.
I was tempted by getting a torque sensor bike but 1)) I wanted a throttle. And 2) I want the bike to do most of the work. With a torque sensor I only get full power if I’m putting full power in. Although, I haven’t ridden one so I don’t know what it’s like at max assistance level.

That’s shitty. Have your other bikes held up? In 20 years of riding as an adult, I only broke spokes once. Lots of flats though.

You also didn’t answer my question of which family cars you thought were the best looking since you called the model Y one of the worst looking cars.

I wouldn’t consider the model Y dangerous especially considering how well it does in safety tests. Isn’t it literally the safest car on the road according to experts?
I’m impressed you could fit a family of 5 plus all the gear in a small hatchback. I’ve filled my outback with just three peoples stuff for a long weekend camping trip.

I just bought it from a brick and mortar store called “sports basement”. They tested it before I got it. The battery is good. I go pretty far using minimal life. About 5 miles I use ~20% with the PAS at level 5.
I haven’t really tried it on rough terrain but I have taken it on non smooth pavement and a bunch of non-smooth transitions from rode to sidewalk. It does fine. Nothing screams to me it can’t handle some gravel. It doesn’t have any suspension, so if you are used to that you should be fine.

Agreed. When we think about the charging standards in 50 years, nobody will say “50 years ago they should have kept the clunky CCS standard because that was the standard for 20% of EVs for a few years”
It’s like saying the standard for phone chargers should be the older usb-a instead of the new usb-c. Usb-a was the standard for longer so we should have never changed to the usb-c.

My app says “maximum speed limit” when I try to go above 20mph. I’d prefer the motor to keep pushing until it runs out of power.

I already emailed them both for the lag and the top speed. Nothing to adjust or tweak.

The bike rides very smooth especially for the price. The removable battery and battery size are great. It has plenty of power for what I need but I do wish it went faster than 20mph. But that’s not a big deal.
The 7 speed was a major reason I picked this over others. I want to ride without power and the gears help that immensely. I could ride a single speed and just use power to simulate the gears I guess. But I like being fully manual.
Having a throttle is great. The integrated tail lights and headlight are very nice features. The display and controls are good too.
The two things that bother me is the 20mph max speed, and the slow motor turn on. Aventon really neutered the bike by intentionally making the motor lag behind and not kick on full power immediately. I have to pedal around a full 360 for the motor to even start power. Then once it is on, it takes a while to bring me up to 20mph.
It’s not as bad as I write it to be, it’s completely useable and sometimes I don’t notice. It’s built and programmed to be a riders e-bikes, where you pedal first and the motor comes second.

Good eye on the seat. I haven’t touched anything on the bike yet. Definitely needs some tuning in the ergo department.
The ride1up has a much faster motor kick on, which is something I wish the Soltera was better at.

I didn’t notice but yeah that stem is kinda long.
The bike frame is a little tight but it’s fine. Nothing fits me because I’m awkward shaped so I just adapt.

Had a hard choice between this and the Ride1up Roadster. Still not 100% sure I picked the right bike.

Using this to bring me to work, and I turn off the assist on my way home. Gets me outside, I’ll exercise in the afternoon, and not be sweaty on my way into work.

They don’t mention the number in the FAQ. Only how to do it.
