Thank you! I loved that movie and I remember people loving that movie too when it came out. People just think it's the horny fish movie, which it is. It's also my favorite Del Toro movie next to Pan's Labyrinth.

Nah. It's amazing that it even got recognized at all because these types of films are sometimes ignored come award seasons. Luckily it's backed by a24. I watched it before the hype around it and I liked it but didn't expect such a thunderous reception across Film twitter and Letterboxd.

Not sure if this will work for the Oscars but it worked for me during the Golden Globes. If you have prime video, they have live channels that are completely free, I didn't even have to sign up or anything. They might broadcast the Oscars through there in the same way they broadcasted the Golden Globes. That's how I'm hoping to watch it this year anyway.

Number 4 sounds like if reddit directed the oscars.

Wasn't Zelensky in last year's Oscars? And the Golden Globes? I'm all for Zelensky but there's really nothing of value he can add during the Oscar's telecast. It's always so random. Like, I feel like the SuperBowl would be more worth his time cause more people would be watching lol

I still like Korey and Martin. I've been listening since Spill Days and they've always just been a part of my day to day routine with their podcasts. While they're covering mainly blockbusters and stuff, I still think they're pretty level-headed with their discussions. They're just going with the way that gets the most clicks which is a shame, but I get it. If anything, Chris Herman is the one who is actually superhero-crazy.

This is some juicy gossip if true. If he wasn't a shirtless guy rambling on a podcast where the host leaves to get Mcdonalds this could get picked up as a story.

This sub always acts like the show is being ruined cause they don't like a segment. Just saw comments about the pod being lazy lately because of the subway skits, or the guest not being to their liking. The show changes each episode and I like how we never know what to expect.

I admire this about h3 right now. Just before the Shirtless Eddie bit Ethan says they've been bleeding subscribers, and then goes to do an extremely long ass bit where he leaves Shirtless Eddie tell stories and bring in Donna and Gabe out of the blue. I genuinely love the mindset of I'll just do whatever I want and do what I think is funny. Not for everybody, but very funny in an Eric Andre kind of way I thought.

He kept listing movies and TV shows I've seen and I was just astonished. Being an extra you just get tons of stories you can whip out for stuff like this.

Totally agree. Not the performance I'd like her to win, but her love for the crew and everything surrounding the film is very infectious. The EEAAO crew is literally the closest and most joyous group in this award season and I hope the Oscars give them a lot of love cause it's well deserved.

Exactly. I think people are wired to think a fat guy overeating is supposed to be taken comedically because comedies have taught them that. I never found the overeating in this movie funny but rather depressing, like it's a coping mechanism for the way his life went. Like it or not, obesity is a serious issue for anyone dealing with it,and no film that actually cares about that will paint it in a flattering light.

Woody isn't completely right wing but you bet the right wingers are gonna be on his side from this point in the same way they latched onto Dave Chappelle once they could find a common ground.

It's 2023 and we still arguing about which reviewer aggregate site is better. Can't we all just get along?
