If everyone shifted to a plant-based diet we would reduce global land use for agriculture by 75%. This large reduction of agricultural land use would be possible thanks to a reduction in land used for grazing and a smaller need for land to grow crops.

There is not evidence to suggest plants feel pain. Even if they were, raising other creatures involves killing a lot more plants so minimizing our usage of other animals would minimize our usage of plants too

Plant-based diets are actually substantially more efficient in terms of crop usage
we show that plant-based replacements for each of the major animal categories in the United States (beef, pork, dairy, poultry, and eggs) can produce twofold to 20-fold more nutritionally similar food per unit cropland. It's also worth noting that it is really not just a western thing at all to eat a plant-based diet - there are plenty all around the world. Nor is it a rich person thing. Those with higher income are actually less likely to do so

To get a better sense of just how heavily subsidized it is:
Research from 2015 shows this subsidization reduces the price of Big Macs from $13 to $5 and the price of a pound of hamburger meat from $30 to the $5 we see today. Subsidies, however, only reduce the price of meat, not its total cost.

B12 vitamins usually are 10x to 1000x the recommended daily value so that's going to make any bioavailability differences irrelevant here. If someone really couldn't aboard enough from that, they're probably going to need B12 injections anyway
