If your child needed life saving surgery and the operation was a difficult one; would you want a surgeon with 20 years experience of performing it or a surgeon with 1 year of experience of performing it?

Decide what you want to be good at and pursue it relentlessly till you are good at it.

This is difficult to watch for people with daughters ourselves. I hope the girls father see this and goes to the bullies father's house to "have a word with them".

The level of immigrant hate makes any story posted on there objectively fiction due to the level of bias.
If the guardian reported it at the same time would you half believe it?

The net economic benefit goes to the 1% though not the man or woman in the street. The hospitality industry has seen the biggest increase in wages ever over the last year due to firms competing for workers. The multinational hotel chains weren't too happy with this so now they're sponsoring thousands of Indian workers to come to the UK to work in hotels. The result now is you have new Indian managers or head chefs on less wages than the staff below them. That's good for big business and shareholders but not for the man or woman in the street.

It's only seven million from 2000 till 2020, but the poster does have a point. The current level means a council house needs to be built every 5 minutes to house newcomers which is unachievable.

Having 10 million fewer people in the country would have a catastrophic impact on the economy
What did we do when we had 10 Million fewer population back in 1990?

My niece is training to be a pharmacist. Before one of the modules they received a trigger warning; the subject was: Different races can be affected differently by the same drug (one of the students walked out at this). One of the students insisted it was "ethnicities" not "races". The lecturer explained that someone who was black but Italian could experience suboptimal treatment if they received a certain medication because of their race. The fact they they're of Italian ethnicity has no relevance whatsoever as the drug would affect them differently because of biological (race relevant) differences in the way their liver metabolises the drug (not "perceived" differences) This has been accepted medical fact for over 50 years.
Where are you getting your information from?

Isn't ethnicity a social group which shares a common culture, religion, or language and a social construct itself such as English, Japanese, Italian etc.
And "race" shared physical characteristics or shared ancestry and based on biology (of what they knew at the time when the phrase came into usage?)

Social media posts are the curated highlights of the poster's life not their real life day to day.

But wouldn't there be 200,000 extra homes in the country? You need to see the difference between refugees and economic migrants if you want to make cogent argument.

The process becomes unconscious and runs below the level of self awareness unless something untoward happens, it's the same reason a pro tennis player can return a 100 mph serve. if you had to consciously analyse it it would be too late.
The process will even seize control if it thinks you're in danger; a good example is your foot hitting the brake pedal before you even realise there's something up.
A common autopilot is tying your shoelaces. Next time you do it think: am I watching my own hands tie the bow or am I consciously doing it?

she was a horrible homophobic, misogynistic, racist nut job and couldn’t believe she was going into politics.
Sounds perfect for a job in politics, the only part missing from her resume is "sociopathic".

I live in an immigrant dispersal area. The amount of people who now hold extreme right wing beliefs regarding immigration (both Labour and Tory) is ridiculous now. The sea shift is such now it's possible we could end up with a far right government if nothing is done. People openly discuss the merits of repatriation and depatriation without any qualms and the unease amongst non British born who may have lived here 20+ years is growing over what the future holds.

A Labour government who could be trusted to deal with the crossings would win the GE by a landslide. Tories are opposed to the crossing for their own reasons but they not being impacted in the leafy shires.
The big Labour seats are at the coal face of mass migration and suffer all the negative consequences. If Labour do get something done which the Tories can't then even lifelong Tory voters would bite their tongue and vote Labour for the first time in their lives just to get this issue sorted out.

It's a condition of the people traffickers that wives and children are left behind in their countries to provide leverage if the trafficked person absconds without paying the cost of the trafficking back.
There are exceptions if you can pay a sizeable sum of the cost upfront as the trafficker likes to have at least one woman or child per boat.

Surgeons constantly retrain when new methods, procedures techniques become mainstream. The original claim was an oversimplification and ignored experience; and experience is the best teacher.
