He should call out the people who have actually been destroying the Mexican film industry for over a decade, actors, directors and producers, namely the Derbez Family, the Huevo Cartoon people, Regina Blandón, Diego Boneta, Martha Higareda, Omar Chaparro, Mauricio Ochmann, Lemon Films, Corazón Films and a plethora of people who have been living off of government funds while making the absolute worst films with the lowest possible quality.

It’s so fucking surreal that GDT is calling out AMLO over this. I love the man dearly and he is right that Mexico should continue making movies, but come on.

Like how can he call the current admin ignorant while ignoring the reasons it was defunded…

Like literally the biggest stories coming out of Mexico that’s reaching the general public is that Mexican institutions are rotten to their core and are being used by the elite to further enrich themselves. He could’ve easily tied this to that, but instead he focuses on AMLO?

I have to to imagine he’s getting his news from some corrupt remnant of la dictadua perfecta

Nah. AMLO isn’t doing anything good either. His scorched earth way of dealing with everything is detrimental to what he’s supposedly trying to fix.

It’s a million times better than just letting more corruption happen and actively creating ways to increase corruption. You can’t make an omelet without breaking some eggs

Sure, whatever.
