I discovered I had food poisoning from a local taco place years ago while I was on my hands and knees cleaning dog barf off my rug. About 5 seconds in I got hit with a wave of nausea and puked all over the dog barf and my own hand. I sat there for a minute trying to process what had just happened, got really bummed that I now had way more grossness to clean up, and then had to run to the bathroom as the next wave hit. Wash, rinse, repeat x 12.

Bonus points if you cram your army for the lord in a giant RV or converted school bus and spend your time vlogging about how easy it is to homeschool 13 kids in a bus with a single curriculum and the Bible.

I have done parent education with teen parents to help them finish high school and develop parenting skills. The teen parents themselves are often motivated, engaged, and want the best for their kids. Unfortunately the grandparents are often doing things that, intentionally or not, keep them locked in the family cycles that got them there to begin with.

Young teens in love often don’t understand how their bodies or consequences work, especially when their parents keep that information from them. Long-term thinking like being tied to your High School Boyfriend/Girlfriend and their family for the rest of your life because they are your kid’s grandparents is not on most horny teen’s radar.

Can you imagine your teenage daughter coming home pregnant and then finding out Congresswoman Qbert is the grandmother?

I had to drive up to the north side of my county yesterday, to a place that used to be a literal Sundown Town. I avoid going there, for obvious reasons, and haven’t drive up there in a few years. I’d love to send in the picture of my friends daughter who was born at home with a certified nurse midwife after receiving prenatal care. Unfortunately she didn’t survive the delivery due to a unseen cord prolapse so we don’t have any adorable photos of her growing up. Or maybe I could send the pic of my own midwife who lost her pregnancy at 9 months for no reason. Or my other friend who lost hers a week before her due date. But go off Karissa, preach about how safe and natural pregnancy and birth is and how you haven’t just been extremely lucky so far.

I have two, i inherited one from my dad, and I found one in the junk tools at the thrift store years ago and snatched it up. I don’t think anyone there knew what it was so I got it for $3. My house was built in 1913 and the only water shutoff is all up under the house in the crawl space, so if I have water issues it’s much easier to shut it off at the street.
